I have one page (according to Google Analytics) that has a 0% bounce rate, 8.25% pages/session and a 7 minute avg. session duration. What does that mean? It's one of my landing pages.

Let me try to decypher this for you:

Bounce Rate:

When a visitor comes to your site, reads page one, and then leaves without visiting other pages, this is a bounce. So 0% bounce rate is a good thing.

Session: A single visit by one visitor to your site

Pages/Session:

This is the average number of pages that one visitor looks at on a single visit to your site, so a pages/session of 7 is very good.

Average minutes/session:

This is the average number of minutes that one visitor spends on your site in a single visit. So 7mins is very good.

I hope this helps you. Good Luck

It means people spend an average of 7 minutes on your page (that is excellent, no one bounce away from your site without visiting another page, but that is difficult to understand if it is a one page "landing" page. Technically it means every one must be signing to some point before leaving the page. I would like to see it if you will post or PM me the URL. I might be able to tell you a bit more.

Hi, Terea! Here's the page URL.

I'm still very new to google analytics but I'm having fun trying to figure it out! lol

It is a great page, not sure people could actually spend a whole 7 minutes on it, but it is possible, Have you checked your exit rate? Should balance with your bounce rate. I can see why they might go to another page on your site, so bounce does not surprise me as much as the time. Bounce is usually around 50 to 75 percent, so if you are getting true numbers you are doing very well.

You might want to watch the replay of the video that Jay did this evening, he explains GA in detail for the beginner and then adds some advanced stuff too.

My exit rate for that page is 29.41%. Does that sound right or are the numbers a bit off?

Also, I do need to go back and look at Jay's video; I missed half of it.

If about 30% of your people are leaving after visiting another page, and none are leaving from the page they land on, what happened to the other 70%? The numbers do not add up!

It wold be very good if you watched the video and made a decision based on jay's teaching!
