If at first you don't succeed
Since I began my journey with WA, I have made several attempts at developing ideas that I felt would be worthy of an online business.
A few have resonated with me and I have designed websites to try and reach the target demographic.
I think it's natural to launch off in a direction, when we first come to this community. The excitement of developing an online presence is very powerful and we can be wisked away in a burst of enthusiam. I certainly have felt that way.
Over the past weekend I took a long,hard look at my accomplishments and have come to the conclusion that I my have been heading off in the wrong direction. I'm not loving what I'm trying to do. I've lost my focus and feel scattered.
I am a generalist at heart. I take a big picture approach to most situations in my life and for the most part it has served me well. I had a long, satisfying career as a "general" building contractor and enjoyed the variety of building projects I managed and completed.
It seemed natural for me to think "generally", when I approached the online marketing space.
But I have come to the conclusion that specificity is the real keystone to this business.
I don't think I really appreciated the magnitude of the online market place. But as I move ahead I see that a very specific idea can be brought to the attention of a very wide market.
Kyle has done a magnificent job at teaching about finding a niche and my next course of action is to reboot my online focus and make some better choices in that regard.
I like manty aspects of this online world. But you can't take it all on in one big gulp.
So, if at first I didn't succeed, I'll try, try again my friends.
Just need to think more deeply about the place to circle round.

The Big Project Manager approach works best when you have a team under you I feel. If it's just you working on your online business then going deep and focused is likely to be the best strategy you can take.
Indeed,having a team does lessen the burden. But as a younger man I got a kick out of all activity and knowing I was helping customers realize their dreams. I have always believed that the work chose me as much as I chose it. I am working now with some deep personal analysis to find the niche that draws me in and couple that with what makes me tick. I'm actually quite excited about the process.
I'll share again my favorite quote because I feel it speaks directly to niche and who we can help.

Eventually you will get there and also think with what you are doing to make sure that you don't kid yourself.

Self analysis is a key indeed. Knowing yone's strengths and weaknesses is critical and will help with focus.

The more I use Jaaxy, the more I find ways to get to some core ideas for content. There always seems to be a deeper and deeper level of existence. The "domain" column in Jaaxy has proven to be quite valuable.
Now that I use it more, often, I can see that I may not be going deep enough into what a viewer may be searching on.
So, yes. back to the drawing board..
