The Road Ahead - Regaining Focus
A quick update on my progress...
After a few weeks, I have finally gotten through the Level 2 - Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website of the Online Entrepreneur Certification. And like many of you know, it wasn't easy at all.
Now don't get me wrong. The step-by-step lessons are invaluable for a new marketer. If you follow the tasks to a tee, you put yourself into a good position to exceed.
Where I found difficulty is with finding topics to explore for my website. I don't know if it's because my niche is too broad or that maybe it doesn't offer much to explore.
I chose to explore introversion. That is my niche. I picked it because I can offer real stories about my life as an introvert. However, my stories are better discussed than written in a thousand-word article.
So, that was something that slowed me a bit. It took me about four days to write my last post. And I have to be honest, some of it had to do with distractions that surfaced in that downtime.
Since getting back into the game, and some of my old partners and friends knowing that I am back in it, I have received unnecessary solicitations. This has led to shiny balls syndrome in the past couple of weeks, a distraction I just didn't need right now. None-the-less, I have veered a bit in the past few weeks.
Now, instead of having one single focus, I have at least three things occupying or vying for my time right now. And that doesn't include my spouse, who hates that I spend much of my time doing things like this. She also gets on me for not spending much time with the kids.
It's a struggle being 50 and having little kids. I am sure it's a struggle at any age, but it seems that much more daunting up here. Most people my age will have their grandchildren over every now and then, but eventually, they go home, and that time is then reclaimed. Not here, my friend. I have another 13+ years of this. Don't get me wrong; I love these little rascals. I just need to find out how to divide my time.
Where do I go from here?
Well, I know for sure that I need to regain focus. A full-time job, a wife and three young kids, a renewed interest in this business, and offers and challenges hitting me left and right. If only a day was 72-hours long, I probably wouldn't have this problem right now - none of us would.
I will keep up with the training while also working towards ambassadorship, a significant achievement for the silent introvert. Just from these past few weeks, I have learned a lot. Many of you have reached out to me to offer guidance and assistance, and I appreciate that. If you could go a bit further by letting me know if I am on track with my niche, that would reassure me. If you know of some topics to explore, that would also be very helpful.

I don't get any support from the family either, Barry! Hang in there and think about a passion of yours that could become a niche!
Jeff
I have a niche, but as I expressed in this post, I am just not all sure about how to tackle it. I want to pursue introverts and introversion as that niche; however, I am limited in my searches when I go to Jaaxy and start searching for keywords.
So, this has me worried because as difficult as it is to write thousand-word articles, imagine how much more that is when you're doing it in a limited field.
For these reasons, I am asking for help from the community on possible related topics, as my small brain can only come up with a few.
As for my family, the lack of support is well warranted. When you have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on wasted opportunities, you are bound to lose the support of those around you.
I hope someone gives you a good answer here, Barry! I'm working on sites to promote my physical businesses right now, so I won't be of much help except to give you encouragement, I'm afraid! 🙏

As stated in this blog post, I am concerned with my niche selection and my inability to find lots of long-tail keywords. I really do not want to go through this for months and then decide it was a bad choice. Can you offer me some advice on my niche selection or perhaps some topic ideas that would either narrow down my scope or broaden my search? @Kyle @Carson
Well, I guess you can't tag people in your initial messages? What a bummer. Lol
how much have you explored your niche ( for me it is more of a topic -a;lmost too braod to start with)
try sites like answerthepublic.com for ideas - type in the niche and see the questions...
also find forums that are discussing this topic and see what sort of problems they are having....
answer their questions in blogs on your site and see if you can get thenm to take notice through social media...
try jaaxy with hte alphabet soup section - see if you can come up with a load of questions people are asking....
good luck Barry
remember this is a marathon not a sprint - so take your rime planning what you are going to do with your short time slots
break down posts into three or four sections and complete them over these time slots.
research on google what sort of articles are written about this topic
have fun

WOW! Got some great results from that site.
By the way, I am in quite a few Introvert groups on Facebook. The article I am writing at the moment comes directly from a conversation we were having about relationships.
You know, maybe I am okay after all. This is something I am passionate about, so I will just make it happen.
Really appreciate your help, encouragement, and the wonderful resource. Thanks!
