Hello Everyone!!!

So you need a profile description huh?.... well here you go.

Well... I've been a true entrepreneur since 1988, and have been self-employed for close to 14 years now. I like to steer my own ship, so to speak. So, I guess I'm just plain unemployable. LOL

I've owned a number of start-up businesses, with some successes and some failures. Mostly related to real estate and real estate investing. I've experienced great successes private consulting, real estate investing, and one of the more successful ventures has been a home building/remodeling construction business. I also coached a Fix & Flip program rahabbing houses for awhile. Up until 2008 business was very good. From 2008 on, my business had shrunk with each passing year down to a trickle in 2012 and only finding low-profit to break-even projects. Heck, I even had to come out of pocket to finish some projects, because I always made sure everyone was paid before I took my personal paycheck. What a guy, huh? Anyway.... politics, overhead costs, economy, and numerous other reasons forced a shutdown of my business late last year after a pretty good run.

Being the entrepreneur that I am, my eyes are forever open to opportunities that those who are not of the entrepreneurial persuasion would miss even if the opportunity were directly under their nose.

So, awhile ago I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to participate with a fellow ex-real estate investor turned internet marketer recently on a project, where he hired me to help produce a how-to guide and build a working model of what is being taught inside that how-to guide. The guide, videos, and working model that I was hired to produce is now being sold on the internet as a companion guide to his hot-selling #1 guide. I was paid quite well for my time, labor, and talents. At least I thought so at the time. I have only one regret in participating in the project. I didn't ask more questions about the business to learn about how I could get involved in the "Internet Marketing" revolution. He had turned from a hit-and-miss real estate investor to successful internet marketer, in a short time, to the tune of a couple mil over the last two years through his network of affiliate marketers.

I've made several attempts, and spent who knows how much, buying bits and pieces of the crap being pawned by so called "experts" (or worse "Guru") on the internet to try to get an internet marketing business up and running with virtually no monetary successes to date. Now, I don't claim to be a rocket scientist, nor do I play one on TV. But I do know that I'm at least as smart as my ex-real estate investor friend. And I know with the right knowledge, training, coaching and mentoring, I can at the very least duplicate his successes on a smaller scale. Then I would simply need to scale things up from there.

Let me tell you. There is surely no shortage of ambition on my end. There is simply a shortage of the whole/complete picture and all the right tools. I've come to realize that I've been spinning my wheels trying to assemble this big puzzle, but was unaware that someone had kept a handful of the pieces out of the puzzle box. So, I've joined this "Wealthy Affiliate" online training with the hopes that with all the right tools I can finally experience my own successes, and have a great story to share with this community and my own circle of influence, and friends.

To close, I'd like say that although gobs of money in the bank is an awesome feeling. Its' not so much the money that I seek. It's the freedoms and lifestyle that the money can give you. As you can see in my profile name I'm also a private pilot, and my wife and I enjoy flying to great destinations throughout the country. I enjoy boating, fishing, and off-road toys as well. None of these pleasures come free. Money is the lube that greases the skids. I also want to help out my extended family in very special ways. I'm hoping that this online business community of like-minded entrepreneurial minds can provide all the right tools, the necessary support when I'm lost or get off-course, and is the roadmap to becoming a successful internet marketer.

Like I always say..... School's Never Out!

Cheers,
Mike the Aviator
Aviator Mike's Goals 3
Money Goals
#1 - I'd be happy earning $1000/day.

#2 - I'd be ecstatic earning $1000/day.

#3 - Whatever it takes! I've already built other successful businesses from nothing, and they didn't happen by wishing them into existence. I actually had to put on some work gloves and dig in. An investment of time and actionable events had to take place to see the fruits of my labors bloom.

I don't know Kyle or Carson beyond what I've learned about them from being a WA member. For those who may be skeptics about the potentials of what they teach, you may want to re-think it. These guys are not promising anything other than if you absorb what they teach, and take action, you can achieve enormous success in this business. My hat's off to these guys.

As I stated in my profile, I have a friend that has as they say "made it" in the online marketing business. He did all the right things. He's pretty much secure for life now, because he built a business around what he does. Things weren't always this way for him though. Not too many years ago, he'd experienced some losses as a real estate investor, and during a period of mending from a broken leg he'd suffered in a skiing accident, he had plenty of time to think.

It was during that laid up period while healing that he ventured into the idea of getting into online marketing to support his family. In the beginning he was struggling to figure this stuff out for himself. Luckily, he surround himself with some very talented people much like we find here within WA. It was that connection with those who walked before him that helped to coach him to the success he experiences today.

I'll just close with this. I know for certain that my $1000/day is doable, because I've seen what my friend is doing, and to be honest with you $1000 per day is chump change compared to what he's doing, and the same potential exists for every member here at WA. You simply need to put in the work.

What's it worth to you?

Cheers,
Mike the Aviator

Awesome post Mike and I know that with some effort, you are going to truly "make it" online!

When you put things into perspective, any number is doable. There are folks making $1000 per day and some making $50,000 per day. It comes down to working towards that goal which is hard work, but definitely worth it.

When you have an audience the size of EVERYONE IN THE WORLD, the opportunity becomes really obvious with a little bit of elbow grease.

Welcome Mike, sounds like you have had quite a ride. Everything you need is here. Sometimes you need to think outside the box a bit. The difference with WA is that everything is done legitimately. It's true, you can make a living at this, the level of living is negotiable. Let me know if I can help.

Hello Labman,

Thanks for the follow and the welcome message. This looks like a pretty strong and supportive business-minded community with the ultimate goal of online success. I'm looking forward to the journey.

Thanks again.

I noticed you mentored a fix and flip program. There is a similar business model in the internet world where you create a site and get it ranking then sell it for a profit.

Hey Labman,

You made the comment... "I noticed you mentored a fix and flip program."

Not sure why, but for some reason I cannot reply to all posts from members. The "Reply" word/hyperlink is missing. I wanted to reply directly to your post but could not. So, I'm starting a new post under your original welcome post.

Yes I did mentor a fix and flip program for a year or so. Good money! Not so much fun with the hand-holding. As I stated in my profile post, I like to steer my own ship. Once contracted with my students, they actually owned me. Oh, I was still steering, but I couldn't leave the wheel. Lol The tradeoff was the money. But when I broke down the time invested, it didn't feel like such a good deal anymore.

I like the idea of the build a site, get it ranking, then sell it. Sort of the fix-n-flip idea with a twist. Thanks for that heads up. It'll surely be on my radar of things to look at later, as I get proficient in marketing online.

Thanks again.

OK just read your profile. We are very much alike in the entrepreneurship background. I've been self employed most of my life too. I teach now.

The only real estate I was involved was with rental property. I found I didn't have the killer instinct and I was constantly falling prey to the "hard luck story". I finally sold all of that stuff and am much happier.

So, yes I've had money and I've been broke - I tell my students that having money is better (big surprise).

Lots to study here - but I believe this is a good place to be.

One of my ventures was coaching a "Fix & Flip" program. This wasn't books and tapes collecting dust on a shelf. My students had to buy and fix a house (rehabs). Depending upon their exist strategy, which they usually knew going into a deal, they would either flip the house, or keep it as a rental. All of my students were collecting around 30k per house (deal) on the sell side of the deal at closing. They paid me 10k to teach them how to rinse and repeat the process. They kept 20k and they learned how to fish (for more houses).

Well that market doesn't exist as much at the moment and those days are gone for now. Lot's of hand-holding and such. I'm now seeking to go online marketing affiliate products, and eventually creating a long list of my own products. I just need the roadmap to success. Hopefully WA shows you the real roadmap.

I also took a look at "Bring the Fresh", but held off. It looks like you're a premium member already. How long have you been involved with WA, and are you close to any successes of your own yet?

I'm fairly - new here. Just signed on April 1 of this year. Still working out the bugs with my site and keywords - so no successes yet - but they're coming. I teach and today is the last day of school so my schedule now opens up and I hope to really move forward more quickly. Good luck with this.

Wow... how cool. Schools about out. Now you can dig your feet in full-time with your own learning/training. Reminds me of Alice Cooper's "Schools Out". Lol

I'm giving the final exam for my last class right now. I looked on my iTunes for the Alice Cooper song but don't have it. So, I am queuing up the original music video for this song on You Tube. I am going to play it at the end of the test.

Thanks for the inspiration.

How cool is that. I think I'll que it up here in my office too. It's a classic from the 70's. Never gets old. Lol

Have fun!

Mike, I just noticed your profile name is Aviator. I guess I'm so used to people using the term Avatar, and I just overlooked it. So, are you a pilot? What do you fly? I am an aspiring pilot, with a whole 13 hours of flight time on my logbook.

I have been training in a Cessna 150 and am really itching to get into something that actually moves faster than the traffic on the highway below.

Hello again Kali and fellow pilot-to-be.

Yep.... I ARE a pilot, since 1998. Lol

I've been flying Cessna 172's, Piper Cherokee's, Piper Archer's, Piper Warriors, and Cozy MKIV experimentals. I much prefer the performance of the Cozy experimental. Using the same engine that propels the Cessna along a the breakneck speeds of maybe 110 or 120 knots, the Cozy can move along at 180 knots. That's about a 210mph my friend. To see what a Cozy is to get an idea why the airplane performs so much better than a Cessna with the same engine, google "Cozy MKIV" to learn more about this incredible experimental aircraft. Or simply go to: cozyaircraft dot com to learn more. Click on the hyperlinks on the left side of the page to see performance specs and a photo gallery. Cool stuff.

Are you still currently training for your pilots certificate?

I had to take a break from training. At my training airfield, Bolivar, Missouri (M17) there is a sign posted in the cafe which says

If God had meant for man to fly
He would have given him more money

So, I will resume my training after learning and succeeding at the affiliate marketing stuff. I am going to check out the Cozy, I have had my eye on an Evektor SportStar. I had previously purchased a Challenger II Clip Wing Special with a 70 Hp engine (40 is standard). It was a little rocket. Had to sell it. :(

I sure hope to hear that you're back in training for your certificate while the training you've received to date is still fresh in your head. I've heard all too many stories about aspiring pilots that never reached the finish line. Some were very close.

Did you solo yet?

What's really nice about flight training is that you can pay as you go. Hopefully affiliate marketing will help to pay the way. I'd love to hear another success story about a newbie pilot that just got his/her wings.

Don't give up the dream.

Hello and welcome to the group. I am fairly new here myself so I don’t have all the answers, in fact sometimes I think I know just enough to be dangerous. But in the short time I’ve been here I have learned a lot and I realize there is a lot more for me to learn. I doubt the learning will ever end because the internet is constantly evolving.

So, here’s what I know for sure…

1. There is a lot of information for you to go through.
2. It is really easy to get overwhelmed, if that happens step back and take a break
3. Follow the lessons one at a time, and don’t skip around if you can avoid it
4. If you get stumped on something, ask. Someone here knows the answer
5. Have fun and hang on!

I’ve been in other groups before, but I’ve never seen anything like Wealthy Affiliate. The other members (not just the owners) really want you and I to succeed so everyone tries to help.

Wishing the best success for you

Hello Kali,

Thanks for the quick welcome. Wow... I wasn't expecting to be noticed so quickly. I'll take the points you've made to heart and hopefully I'll finally have my own internet marketing success stories to share. I sure hope I've found a good community of like-minded entrepreneurs. Thanks again!

Cheers,

Hello Kyle,

Thanks a bunch for the welcome. I'm already finding there's a great deal of good positive energy floating about in this online success community. I have to be honest, I've never really seen anything like it before. Thanks for being a part of something great!

I'm looking forward to the day that I can monetize a website. For me, even a few dollar sale would be reason to celebrate. From there, I would only need to scale it up.

I appreciate the welcome.

Cheers,

Excellent Mike, hopefully we will continue to live up to your expectations (and hopefully exceed them). ;) Sorry about my delayed response to this as well, just go back from an almost "full disconnect" vacation, an unusual term when you are running an internet business lol.

Hey... no apologies necessary Kyle. Everyone needs to get away, and to recharge. I find that some of my better ideas came during times of R&R. I know, that sounds counterintuitive, but I'm for real. I've surrounded myself with some very successful and wealthy friends, and they'll be the first to admit that those times are good for more than just getting away. I have a goal of taking at least 4 good vacations a year. Glad to hear you had nice escape. Now get back to work! LOL

Yeah, it absolutely is. My best ideas never come while I am in the office, they come from elsewhere and travelling definitely can lead to a good deal of inspiration (and giving the brain a break). :)
