Wow! It has been such a long while since I've updated WA! I thank everyone who commented on my previous blog posts and I'm glad I've encouraged you if you are a slow mover. I am too, a very slow mover. However, once I started focusing on my niche site and ditched all the shiny (niche site related) objects, I started to see some results and I will sharing a small bit of them with you here. It's way too long to write everything here and I want to keep the juicy bits for my page. :)

Since this is a progress report, I will be updating on what I'm up to nowadays. However, more details can be found on my website since I want to keep this succinct and about my niche site as much as possible.

So here's a quick update of 2017 and my plans for 2018 before I move into the interesting niche site details.

In 2017 and 2018, I had and will be focusing on what I call my 3-pronged approach towards passive income: 1) Amazon niche sites, 2) dropshipping (yes it’s possible for it to be relatively passive if done right) and 2) my MLM online business. *Did you frown when you read the word MLM? Yes I did too.* I'm anti-MLM and refused to listen to my friend about it. However, during a dinner date with her, she shared about the company, the quality products and most importantly, the compensation plan that ensures that everyone benefits and wins (Not only the top guy! I can too!). And that won me over. I won't be writing more about it here because I want to keep this post niche site related. However, you can find out more about it and read more details about my niche site progress report here: incomejane.com/passive-income-challenge. If not, read on for the TL;DR version below.

In July 2016, I started an Amazon affiliate site with a buddy and we launched it in late August 2016. We posted about 20 articles before we got our first sale 2 days before Dec 2016, in Nov!

We both were literally screaming for joy when we had our first sale! (red line for clicks and yellow line for sales) Fast forward 1 year to 28 Dec 2017, it was the day we achieved our milestone of $1000 in a month! In fact, we sold $132k worth of items in Amazon in 2017!

Truthfully, we were very slow movers and we barely worked on our site for a couple of months in 2017. But when we saw that our earnings were increasing, we picked it up again around August 2017.

So here's my biggest takeaways since then:

1) Never give up!

2) Find a buddy to encourage you if you lack motivation to do it alone.

3) Stay away from shiny objects.

4) Remember number 1. You can get back into the game even after stopping for a long time. Niche sites are like your personal real estate.

I thank WA and the community since this is the first place I started learning about proper affiliate marketing. Although I went on to other training programs, I gained my foundation from WA and it has been helpful in my affiliate journey.

If you want to read a more comprehensive write-up of my 3 pronged approach to passive income and my niche site journey, you may do so at my website: https://incomejane.com/passive...

I'm always encouraged when people leave comments and share their thoughts about my post after reading it. So please share with me your biggest takeaway and/or your reflection after reading my progress report.

Thank you for taking the time to read, it's a long one. I tried my best to keep it short and sweet. :)

Wow, so inspiring! Are you using contextual links or natives ads to promote those products?

I do informational articles, and only have around 3 product reviews.

Thank you so much for sharing this. It is so inspiring for a lot of us here that are slow movers of which I am myself. I'm learning things right now on how to sell on Amazon as well as working on my niche site so it is a pretty busy time for me right now. My congratulations goes out to you and your success and here's to your continued success and even bigger things to come for you in 2018!

congratulations!

I have seen so many members saying they
got the foundation here in WA but used other
training to build their business.

We are paying WA to give us all the tools and
training to build an online business which makes
us full-time eventually, so why the need to use
other resources?

Do you think that the training here in WA by itself
is enough to hit $1000 per month or more? without
using any external resources?

I think that the core training could get you there, but if you also use the live video replays and training created by others here at WA, you will get there faster. I don't use sources outside that, though.

Hi, personally I think it's a good base to start off but since the online world changes quite rapidly, I have a few people I follow online. I like the immediate feedback from the courses where I get speak to people who are building up and getting feedback from the course owners who are still building affiliate websites from scratch.

This is Colton from WA who did really well with his site just with the strategies taught here: https://incomejane.com/success-story-colton-ditched-700-job/

So can WA work, yes I believe so. You just gotta follow through and push on.

thank you for your comment :)

You're welcome!

Thank you, Jane :)

Awesome update! I like the progression of your earnings, slowly but surely! Staying away from shiny objects are key for me! Thanks for the reminder!

Chris
