Turn on The Light!

I'm not ultra religious, but I was raised as a Christian and I am a Christian. Today, this day, is more important to me, at this moment, than any day I can remember. Knowing that we are celebrating the resurrection of Christ gives me hope. For the past 30 days or so, I've had a recurring nightmare and I wake in sheer terror. I have not felt this level of fright since I was a boy. I didn't know what to do until a friend suggested I turn on a light. This demon I fear will never go away, but when she visits in my dreams or knocks on the door, I know what to do-turn on the light!
I just woke from that nightmare. Sitting on my nightstand are two books. The Holy Bible and Jesus Is Calling. I by no means am a saint, angel, nor perfect. I have done some horrific things in the eyes of many including myself and some may scoff at this post, but that does not matter; especially today. I placed those two books on my nightstand recently and I have been walking through the darkest period of my life. I don't know why I placed those two books on my nightstand until this moment. It just occurred to me (as I am typing) that Jesus Christ is the light. I make no apologies for being Christian. This post is for me: it serves as a reminder of what keeps me, Steve Edwards, grounded. Christianity and spirituality are two terms that I often interchange but have the same meaning. Faith is important. Those who have it succeed. Those who do not ultimately fail. Faith can be defined is so many different ways and it can be defined differently throughout our lives. Believe in something or fail at everything.
The demon in my nightmare may never go away; but I know where to find the light.

Thanks so much for sharing this. And you never know where or how your faith is going to be restored but maybe that's what's going on.
Recent things in my life have driven me back to the faith that I need to have in laying everything in His hands and stop worrying. It's hard but everything happens for a reason.
