Hello 👋
Is the Generate press premium theme faster on mobile than the free version?
According to the google mobile site speed website, I am having problems with

If your site is taking 5 or 6 full seconds to load, then you might look to possibly optimizing images, etc. to help with your loading speeds, but if it doesn't seem slow to the naked eye, then the site speed grades really don't mean much. Sometimes you can take all these steps and literally only shave milliseconds off the time and it suddenly has a better grade. As long as it's only taking a few seconds to load, you're fine. :)

I disabled avatars and removed my AdWords code. My Mobile site speed jumped by 40 and now Is between 95 and a hundred each time.
I wasn’t approved for AdWords for some reason and now I am glad because removing the code helped me a lot.

Excellent way to troubleshoot! That's awesome! Anything in the 90s is spectacular!

I would say it is the same if there is any changes in speed it would be your Server Provider that would make things faster.

Thanks

Welcome

Most of the WA members agreed with GeneratePress is the lightest and responsive theme. You can see the effect immediately after the switch to GeneratePress.
Your images have to properly compress and saved in the media. If you copy images from outside and direct paste to your website, you have not to go through the compression process by the plugin.
Videos in your page will bring down your speed, I replace it by text line only.
I get advised to use plugin Asset Cleanup to improve Jaya Script and CSS affecting speed issues.
My website speed result as attached.

Thanks

anything above 50 is good, so don't worry about your mobile speed
what problems you are looking at are not from the theme but from plugins
so make sure you need all of your plugins
good luck
phil

Thanks

Do the search engines view pretty links as internal links or external links when they scan your post? I guess another way to ask this is: Do pretty links count as external link

Google will look at where the links are pointing. Doesn't matter if they are shortened or not. If they point to another page on your site, it will be considered an internal link. If it points outside your site, even with your site's name in it, it will be an external link.

I would only use Pretty Links if pointing outside my site. If it's internal linking, just use the URL of your post, which then includes the name of the article, making more sense to your readers.

Thanks,
That’s what I do. I was just curious to find out if pretty links were considered internal since they too contain my websites url

Good question

I see you have a good answer Greg so keep on moving forward and all the best
Vick

It depends on if they are pointing to something external or internal. The search engines can tell

That's what I needed to know. Thank you
