Started website and now Im wondering

Started my niche website today. Hoping to see great things in the coming months. I am wondering if greater profit margins can be seen in product promotions or tutorial/how to type blogging. Both have advantages however it would be interesting to see the side by side results. Obviously it depends on the market and niche as well so both would have to find a comparable foundation alongside one another in order to test the benefits of one over the other.

Seems to me, Arielle, that it takes a campaign of both: give and then ask. Does that make sense?
Tutor, then get affiliate referrals from grateful clients, as well as referrals to more, individual paid tutoring.
Never tried it, haven't really given it a whole lot of thought, just my top-of-head reactions. Whaddya Think?

I was thinking of possibly trying to put up youtube videos and a website that intertwined with them. After that I was thinking of adding additional content. I dont want students to think im too spammy, selly or just dont genuinely want to help. I love tutoring and helping people.

Sounds like the WA approach, as I've come to understand it so far. I haven't actually heard the YouTube platform itself included, but certainly other media. You may just be a groundbreaker in that regard; I'd be interested in Kyle's or Carson's take on it. Or any of the other more experienced members. Hopefully you'll get some of their responses to your concept....

There are so many variables, it's hard to really compare.

Promoting mainstream products generally yields lower commission rates, but you can promote a wider range and sell more of them.

Promoting tutorial/how to sites probably has higher commissions and higher average price points, but the selection is less and the niches are smaller.

Then you have completely digital product sold via places like ClickBank and JVZoo, which carry high commission rates and vary from low to mid-range in pricing.

Decisions, decisions. :)

The decisions are truly endless I can see how people can get confused/ lost in their niche so quickly.

Inconsistency and being pulled in multiple directions kills a lot of people IMO. Even here where WA tries to streamline things, there is still a ridiculous amount of information. Some of us tend to make it more difficult than it needs to be, though.
