Productivity and HOW to stop wasting time on facebook

Sooo when i was in college (not long ago though haha) i had some trouble with focusing on the tasks at hand, e.g. finishing my papers, looking up references and more.

The problem was i kept finding more interesting things to do, like wasting time on Facebook, AND mind you i wasn't playing Farmville or Candy Crush i was just strangely scrolling throught the newsfeed looking for something vaguely interesting... Sound familiar?

So to keep this post short, besides not like i'm trying to sell you anything. I found an app to help me BLOCK certain webpages when i needed to focus on work.

The app is called SelfControl (yep) and is for Macos and it allows you to block certain webpages for a certain amount of time (15 minutes, 30 min, 24 hours etc)

For Windows there is a similar app called Cold Turkey (haven't tried it yet) but is supposed to do the same thing.

I think i might need to start implementing these apps again.

Sadly i don't know of any app for Linux.
