Usernames changed strange glitch in the system
Hi All
Lately I noticed some strange glitch in the system and have sent Klye a PM to let him know just now.
Not sure if anyone noticed but this happened originally to one members as you know one you get used to some long time members you know there username and so when you see a different username it then is a strange occurrence.
I noticed this a few weeks again when about to respond to a post or question can't remember which and saw one of our good members that their username was changed except in this case totally off
This happen three times that I noticed on the same person then once I refreshed the WA page their name came back to normal
This first time thought that is strange and refreshed and didn't think too much about it the second time it happened again to the same member but forgot to take a snapshot then again it happened a third time to the same member with the same weird user name so this time took a snapshot and then refreshed the WA page and once more their original username came back.
Here is the first snapshot I took for this member
I let Jim know about it yesterday and as you can see not the name I would expect him to use.
As you can see the same comment is there but after refreshing the username changed
I hadn't noticed this on anyone's profile an d felt this was a strange glitch only for this member but today I went to respond to a post when I saw this happened to another member.
So I took a snapshot before refreshing and again after the refresh their username came back as normal.
So I just sent Kyle the PM to let him know so they can check it out
Don't worry about the different language as Trish (Triblu) did a reply both languages the snapshot is about the change in username.
Now as originally thought this was a one off although it happened three times to Jim as you can see the username is one that can't be forgotten that quickly.
so wondering if you have noticed this with anyone else or perhaps didn't pick it up
Interesting to hear your thoughts on this.
Obviously this is weird occurrence and certainly a glitch but now it is on two members I noticed rather than just one member.
As now when I go back to the same post of that member replying it is normal username.
Just wanted you guys to know in case it comes across again
Enjoy your day/afternoon/evening and have a great week ahead.
Andre

Hey, Andre. I also wrote to Kyle and sent him the screen shot you sent to me. I would think that there is a record of each time a profile name is changed. The only thing I can think of is that someone did a screen shot of my comment, change my name and then pasted it as a new comment.
I don't know how else it could happen. Thanks for sending the info. to Kyle.
Jim
No probs Jim I doubt someone would do that as when they click the reply button it would show their name. As you can see it happened to another member which I happen to notice today.
Hopefully once Kyle wakes up he can look into it and let us know or you can let me know if he responds to you first.
Andre
now my daughter came from work and she can talk my furbaby back to her home and can finally get some shuteye
Catch you later
Andre
Got morning Andre,
I hope that you are doing well.
I must admit I have not seen this glitch as yet, it doesn't sound very clever! However, it's good that you have contacted Kyle. I guess with a website with this amount of traffic, there are always many things going on, some of them probably not so good! I hope that they can get to the root of the problem.
Have a great day.
Roy
Thanks Roy and yes there will always be some sort of glitch but this one is strange so hopefully they can pinpoint where the names and why it is appearing at random.
It's a pleasure, Andre!
I don't know too much about the technical side of websites, however, it does amaze and also interests me when these things happen! There must be so much to know about a website with this much functionality and all the traffic it receives. Although it's probably a headache for the owners!
On another note, Andre, how is your wife doing? I do hope things are improving.
Have a great day.
Roy
I'm very pleased to hear that, Andre, that's very good news! Some things just take time, especially when it comes to health.
Have a fantastic day.
Roy
Good morning Andre,
I hope you're doing well. Have you seen the strange glitch in the system any more since writing your blog post?
Have a great day.
Roy
Hi Roy I am fine thanks
No haven't seen anything yet Kyle seems to think it may have something to do with the browser or a program somewhere that could be causing it as he feels it is impossible for it to happen their end.
So if I see it will let him know
Hello Andre,
I'm glad to hear that all is well.
It's amazing the complications that various programs can cause to websites etc. I imagine it must be a constant battle, especially for a website the size of Wealthy Affiliate.
I hope that you have a great weekend.
Roy
Thanks Roy appreciated. Enjoy your weekend as well My Sat is nearly over it's 9.15 Pm so will rest soon been up since 4.30 am with my furbaby grandson as my Daughter worked really late hours last night so feeling the pinch today.
Andre
I can never remember what the time difference is in Australia! It looks like you are nine hours ahead of us here in the UK. I also appreciate that Australia is a massive country, so you may have different times within the country.
You have been up a long time, although it's good to be up early!
Sleep well.
Roy
Good morning Andre,
I trust you are doing well.
The time zones are kind of fascinating for me! I had some friends who were fortunate enough to carry out some travelling in their retirement. They actually flew somewhere, and I can't remember where and arrived earlier than the time they left! One thing is for sure, we can't stop time!
I hope your Sunday is going well.
Roy
So True Roy I remember the first time I drove from Sydney on the East coast to Western Australia in normal time they are 2 hours behind. however on the East coast we were on daylight saving time so in fact I had an extra hour to drive before it got dark.
That was back in 1998 long time ago
So that was an added benefit. Took 8 days to drive with stops in the evening but we stay as extra day as my wife and my son both got sick so we stayed in South Australia for an extra day.
That's amazing, Andre! That's certainly a lot of driving! I know your country is absolutely huge!
I just looked up the width of Australia and it's approximately 2500 miles across, that's a long way and a lot of driving! It's amazing, if I drove from my house in the UK to my wife's place in northern Greece, that would be 1741 miles door-to-door! However, I have always gone by air, which takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on the wind.
I don't know how good the Australian roads would be, especially in the remote places.
Have a great Sunday.
Roy
Certainly a long drive and one must be well prepared my kinds were 5 and 3 when we left I had two 20 litre tanks as reserved just in case as there the petrol stations are far and few between so planning is crucial.
Yet the best drive even but no reception in certain long drives the road was good and a major road there and back.
It certainly is a long drive, Andre, further than I would want to drive, I must admit! It's also quite a commitment with two young children. I can imagine your fuel stations would be few and far between in the rural areas. Even here in the UK, we don't have that many village fuel stations. I can often drive from one destination to the other without seeing a single fuel station and that could be 35 miles or so.
It's good that the roads were good; I'm not surprised about telephone reception as I'm sure it's very rural.
Roy
Yep we went to move there but only stayed for a year then went back to NSW love it here better.
As for telephone reception I purchase my first mobile phone then and specifically asked will it cover reception in these areas they said yes which was total BS just to make the sale.
Oh well plus the mobile then were not the small slip in your pocket like these days either
The rest of your day.
Andre
Good morning Andre,
It's always good to be somewhere that you can like and enjoy.
I think I had my first mobile phone around 1992, it was a Nokia 101. I guess it was the next generation on from the brick phone as we used to call them! I remember reception being very sketchy here in the UK, however, I can imagine it being a lot worse in a country so vast as Australia.
It's amazing how mobile phones have changed over the years, especially with smartphones!
I hope your day is going well.
Roy
That was the same Phone as Mine I believe and couldn't put it in the pocket but had to hand it around the waist with it's one little hook. But agree better than those Brick Phones people had walking around glad they advanced and changed to style and size of the phones. Imagine people walking around shopping centres and elsewhere with brick style phones. No neither do I.
enjoy your day
My Nokia 101 had a little aerial on the top that you could push down, but it needed to be up to receive a signal! It used to become bent, so Nokia brought out a flexible rubber-type aerial. How things change!
With those brick phones, there was no way you could put them in your pocket. And then some people had the briefcase style phones; now they were really cumbersome!
Roy
Yep remember that too the first time I saw a mobile was when I worked in the city and going to lunch with friends more like the pub but lunched was available besides my manager was with us so no issue there
That was the first time I saw those brick phones with some guy in a suit taking while taking his stroll more like showing off as that was the new thing then.
there certainly were bulky I thought I would never get something like that I can just wait to get to the office and use the good old and reliable dial up phone if I needed to talk.
How times have changed
I can remember similar situations where people would plonk their phone on the bar! Knowing that there was absolutely no chance of the phone working whatsoever, as it was a rural area! However, I guess it looked impressive!
When I had my first mobile phone, I think I was paying ยฃ25 per month and 40p a minute for peak calls and 25p a minute for off-peak calls! And, of course, I had to purchase the phone separately! How times change!
About a year later, in 1993, pay-as-you-go phones became available, this is when mobile phones became really popular in the UK!
Roy
I'll definitely be on the look out for any strange occurrences. Thanks for the heads up!

No probs Myra good to hear from you too enjoy the rest of the week ahead and hope you had a great weekend as well.

I have been building on other sites and haven't done much here.
No, I hadn't noticed anything myself.
The profile owner response.
Interesting.
Your thoughts.
These are things I desire to learn more about unsure of whom to trust.
Looking forward to pushing through my own fears and having a great community to help figure things out with.
A-Team :-)
Me: Sitting in the corner cheering you on. Go team.
Trying to understand why people have to find themselves hateful instead of building a better world.
Personally not thinking it's AI problems, any thoughts on that would be interesting to hear.
RitaAnn~
Thanks, RitaAnn you are always appreciated.
Some people need to get a good hard look at themselves in the mirror and actually see what they hate is more about themselves than others and not use others as an excuse for their own wrongdoings.
Always easy to find an excuse and blame others but much harder to accept one's own faults and deal with them positively
Have a great week ahead.
Andre :)
You're correct apache1, haters are so miserable it's almost sad. That's YOUR fault by the way. lol *had to throw that in.
I'm hoping everything works out as this site is really quite amazing and one of the reasons I prefer to pay for membership than sit on free sites that allow haters to bully and stifle creative flow.
Hopefully this site will help hateful people with ugly hearts to either leave, or find a better disposition in life. :-)
Thanks for everything you do to help make this site the treasure it is.
RitaAnn~
Thank you RitaAnn you said it well and hopefully more will change their ways.
Enjoy your day and rest of the week and thank you for all the support you give always appreciated.
Andre
You're so thoughtful, thank you.
RitaAnn~
The same to you too and know your support constantly makes my day here.
Thank you ๐๐ค
