Pay Attention Before You Upgrade
This is mainly for Starter Members who may wish to upgrade to the two options of paid membership available to you either premium or premium plus.
However other paid members, both recently newbies and those who have been here for a while can take note for future reference.
I have seen recently some new members who decide to upgrade complain that WA is ripped them off by overcharging them mostly with a yearly membership instead of what they wanted by going monthly.
They tend to feel they just got ripped off or think this is a fraud to get more money out of them which is not true.
Firstly:
As a starter member you have the free lessons given to you along with vlogs by Kyle to help you understand more and see if this is something you wish to do going forward. The starter members is a test trial only and is at no cost to you.
Should you choose to be serious and move forward YOU have the personal choice and freedom to select which membership you wish to take which can be paying monthly or yearly.
The yearly overall will save you more money long-term but again that is your choice and your choice only to make. It will even should you the savings if you go yearly on the screen.
Unlike some programs out there you are not forced to pay thousands to the so-called elite program and then cop more upsells with false and misleading information they tend to give you. Not to mention the added hidden cost you find out later once you join.
Here WA is upfront with the cost and have been since 2005 and still going forward with honestly and transparency.
Note:
WA does not charge you extra in fact when you upgrade to premium you are given credits to purchase 1 dot dom domain for the first year at no cost to you.
If you choose to upgrade to premium plus you can have credits given to you to purchase 2 dot com domains for the first year again at no cost to you.
Not to mention all the additional benefits you get as a paid member with free hosting, added tools, resources and training and always new training added to keep you updated and informed to current trends.
Paying Attention When Upgrading
Some newbies may decide to upgrade right away if you are a starter member going through your test trial you are given the first 3 lessons at no cost to you.
Should you feel happy and serious in wanting to go further when you get to lesson 4 you can choose to upgrade and unlock all the training available and more according to which membership you take Premium or Premium Plus.
Here is where the issue lies.
Once you click the upgrade button you are taken to a new page to choose your membership you wish to take premium or premium plus.
However there is another choice that some choose to not pay attention to and that is the option to go either monthly or yearly regardless if it is a premium or plus membership.
Here is the option you see which is clear and straightforward for all to see.
The first is the yearly option for Premium
As you can see there is a choice to click either monthly or yearly currently it is set to Yearly which if you can afford it is the best choice as it works out cheaper overall for premium That is why it shows the $41.42 monthly saving over a year. It is not the cost you pay when choosing yearly you still pay $497.
But if you can't afford yearly which is fine all you need to do is click monthly instead as shown below
This is the same screen as the one above except the monthly is clicked instead and as you can see clearly the monthly cost is $49 per month.
However some don't pay attention to this and if they wanted to go monthly the leave is asyearly then wonder why they got charged a yearly amount instead on the payment they choose.
Which brings me to the next point and screenshots.
Once you have selected or didn't select as stated above properly you get taken to a new screen which you give details of where or what payments option to make.
The above is the next screen you get when choosing your payment method if you choose yearly it clearly states as you can see what the cost is.
In this case it is $497 for yearly membership

Again the monthly cost is clearly shown so how can one not see the cost given to you.
If you are complaining about being charged yearly instead of monthly you should have seen the cost is not $49 bu $497 as a premium member.
If you look at both the two second screenshot above you will see there is again the option to take to choose either monthly or yearly
So if by some neglected choice you choose yearly at the first upgrade you should have seen the yearly cost of $497 light didn't go on?
If so then you can see again you have the option to select either yearly or monthly before you give your payment details.
Third Part
Now comes the final part you should pay attention to.
Once you have chosen your subscription choice monthly or yearly, Premium or premium plus. Now you provide your payment details in the case below I have taken the card option but the others will be the same just your details would change like PayPal instead of Credit card
This is one of the most crucial parts as shown below
The second screen should have given you the option for the lights to be turned on and see what payment you are about to make and which subscription you have chosen with premium or premium plus along with paying yearly or monthly.
Now again if you neglected to look properly you get to the right side of the second screenshot fill in your details asked of and when finished you should be making sure that all the details you selected along with your payment details are correct.
Questions to ask yourself and Pay Attention
That is did you choose the right membership premium or premium plus?
Did you choose the yearly or the monthly option?
This should be thoroughly checked just like you would with any payment you are making regardless of what it is. You always make sure you did not get overcharged and give the wrong or incorrect details with any payment your are making.
Finally once all details are done there are two more parts to take note.
First and once more time check all you details if you have to double or triple check then do so.
Before you click the complete purchase button read what it states below.
Once you have read what it states and you have done everything properly then click the complete purchase button.
Final Thoughts
You have a personal choice to either upgrade or not.
You have the personal choice to select premium or premium plus
You have the personal choice to select yearly or monthly.
And dont' state you were charged without your permission hence the details to read when you sign up and upgrade.
I am not going to pussy foot here and make no apologies for your error or neglect.
It is your responsibility to make sure you have done the above along with selecting the payment details
From there read the last statement and before clicking the complete purchase details make sure all is done correctly and what you intended to do.
Don't complain that you are being ripped off, don't complain this is fraud, instead pay proper attention to what you have selected.
If you didn't do the right thing the onus is on you.
WA did not do anything wrong you did.
Why because you didn't pay proper attention in the first, second and even third place described above.
There are no excuses for this.
