Broken down, this is going to be more than achievable for you (and then some). The internet has over 2 billion people actively search for and buying things online. All you need to do is connect with a few of these people each day to meet your initial goal!

I know with some hard work and persistence you will achieve all of your goals and then be building brand new ones. I am here to help if you ever need anything and you have an entire community rooting for your success here at WA Annie! :)

Hi Annie,
It's very nice to meet you! I found your name on a page where you were incredibly kind an' I was so thrilled by what you did that I jus' hadda' come over here to meet you. So... Howdy-Do!

I'm very sad that you struggle with disability, but I'm SO happy that you found WA! SO Happy!

You Can Do This, Annie! I've been here for slightly more than a year an' I've been letting fear hold me back. Fortunately, I met a newbie, just a few days ago an' she doesn't even realize that she showed my how to conquer my fear.

There are a few things you may wanna' consider; one is... Follow other members an' make worthwhile comments, as often as you can. I a'ready saw that you are good at making valuable comments. Great Job!

You may wanna' Follow more members than you have, so far. Jus' sayin'...

Ask questions whenever you need to. We all wanna' see you succeed. Don't be afraid to share yourself on your blog. That's where MY area of fear came in.

Other than those words of advice, may I jus' say... you're perfect... jus' the way you are.

Awww! Thank you! That's so sweet! I really appreciate the support. Was your site one of the ones I gave feedback on or did I comment on a question or blog post of yours? Thanks for reaching out. It really helps to know how much support there is here. The people on WA are amazing & I'm incredibly glad I found this place too! πŸ–€

Honestly, I don't know if you have gone to one of my pages. I recall that I was reading another person's Profile Page when I found you an' I knew I didn't wanna' pass up knowing someone so generous.

I'm sure that, as you an' I go forward in our quests to build the freedom that we both seek, we will cross paths, many times. With that knowledge, I'm not really worried whether you have, as yet, commented on one of my pages. Hopefully, I will eventually write sump'n that you Absolutely Can NOT avoid reading 'cause it's THAT Amazing. Haha (one can dream, right?)

By the way, I dunno' if I mentioned it... that is, about me also bein' disabled. Just in case I didn't, I thought I should tell you to watch out for the water. I think it must be in the water... Everywhere! 'Cause there's a lotta' that goin' around. Tee Hee!

Jus' joking, of course. I have been disabled for many years, also. For me, making fun of what I am unable to do is kinda' like taking back control. :D

Take care, Annie! I look forward to seeing you around the many halls of WA. :)

That is so sweet! Right after I sent the reply asking where you saw my comment I opened my next notification & it was your comment to mine on that page. I was following the original poster when I saw the comment from John about how hard he's finding it to just get his thoughts out in a way that sounds good & natural. I've heard so many people say that & I honestly think it's it the way we frame writing as 2 totally different things, the first being any form written or typed correspondence like texts, emails, mail & notes, & the second being something Shakespear & James Patterson do.

Even though we use the same word, people feel like writing for any professional purpose can't be the same thing as emailing their grandma. For some professions, that's sometimes true, like academic writing or corporate stuff, but the thing that's unique to blogging is that the reason people love it is BECAUSE it's NOT like that! They want to come to a blog & feel like they're talking to an old buddy. They keep coming back for the content at first, bc they find it useful, but later it's bc they feel like they know the blogger.

I talk about the bloggers I follow like I do my BFF. That is what's so intriguing g to people about them. They write conversationally, the same way they'd speak & people bond with the person bc they're hearing their natural words & it's not at all formal. It allows them to feel a closeness that isn't typical of other mediums. No one ever feels like they know the guy who wrote their instruction manual or the lady who wrote their science textbook personally. LOL.

I just hope the info & resources I gave helped, although I do want to email him again soon to follow up. I've always been the kind of person willing to help anyone when I can so I love that this platform is based on that kind of community & you get rewarded for helping others. That's what makes this place seem so genuine to me.

I have no doubt that you are going to write PLENTY of awesome things that I'd fall in love with at first read! The way you type conversationally is so grammatically correct while also being more accurate to spoken conversations. A lot of people, myself included, leave off certain letters when we say things like freakin' instead of freaking, or we say wanna & not want to. But when you write, you account for all that, & your use of apostrophes makes it look grammatically correct instead of just sloppy, which is how some see things like that without them. Plus, bc yours is written in the way people actually speak, it makes it feel more natural & conversational & it makes it feel like I can actually hear your voice talking to me like a friend. That's a killer asset in a blogger! So I'm not worried about your career, I'm sure you're going places!

It does seem like an epidemic lately, right? Everyone has some chronic illness or an invisible disability now unlike a few decades ago. Part of me thinks there is an environmental cause bc there are so many more of us now, but on the other hand, a few decades ago people called kids with autism or ADD or dyslexia lazy & stupid instead of thinking it might actually be harder for them. Depression & all other mental illnesses were treated horribly so no one admitted they had one.

Also, those decades had no sympathy for anyone. No matter what was wrong or how much it hurt, they expected you to work through it. It did a lot of damage to those poor people & I'm so glad we are changing that, but maybe the reason it seems like more of us that back then, they just weren't allowed to talk about it. Plus things like fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue syndrome can't be tested for with blood work or scans, so to that generation they were just attention seekers. It makes it hard to really know if there are more problems or if people are just allowed to have them in public now, ya know?

A dream of mine (a very unrealistic one, but as you said, it's important to dream big!) is to one day have several different businesses, a scribe business, life coaching, advice sites, rank & rent sites, etc. all under the same corporate umbrella, & I'll only hire disabled or chronically il employees, pay for their training to write code, edit, write copy, design sites, design logos, create images & anything else the businesses need to hire people for & if they want to stay with the company, great, happy to have them, but if they aren't happy, they'll be free to find another opportunity to use the skill we provided where they'll be happier.

IDK if that would be financially possible to pay for the training & let them quit, but if it isn't, maybe there could be an agreement like military has, I'll pay for your training, you use your skill for me for a year, then if you want to leave, I wish you all the best. I know that sounds incredibly unrealistic but so far, every huge change seemed impossible before someone did it. The Wright brothers, amnesty international, Nelson Mandela, all people or groups who dared to hope for a better world or an impossible change & it paid off. If I ever do make that happen, you'll be at the top of the list for the first pick!πŸ˜‚ Lol. We gotta stick together! πŸ’•

Hey Annie, just saw your question in the live chat but it was already 12 min ago. So I figured I'll leave a comment here on your profile:

Make sure your image's file name doesn't have any special characters like an apostrophe. Dashes (-) and underscores (_) are fine, but remove anything else (for example spaces and apostrophes).
Reply
AnnieSco Premium
And wouldn't you know it, that's EXACTLY what the problem was! Thank you! Usually the computer doesn't let me add any but it apparently allows me to add an apostrophe & I'm not typically accustomed to writing anything to be grammatically incorrect so I didn't even realize it counted as a Specail character until I took it out & it solved the problem. Lol. Thanks again.

Hey,

Since you were so much help with my last photo related problem I was wondering, do you happen to know how I put a photo on my home page? I have a really great one I made of the blog name on a really cute background but I can't fugue out how to put it there. If really appreciate any help you could give! Thanks in advance!
Reply

Hey glad that solved it! :D Yeah many people are not aware of how important it is to not use special characters in file names.

Hey Annie sorry I was gone for 3 days and didn't have access to my computer. Whether or not you can put an image on your home page largely depends on your theme (without changing the code manually). So you need to google your theme's name and "how to put image on blog page", maybe you'll find something.

The other thing you can google for is "theme name + how to put logo in header".

Also, in your WP dashboard, go to "Appearance" - > "Customize". Have a look at all the options, there might be a sub-panel where it says something along the lines of "upload logo".

That's for putting an image where your blog's name currently is.

If your theme doesn't support that, there are only two options:
1) Change the code manually (you could hire a freelancer on Upwork or Fiverr),
2) or switching to a theme that supports this
Reply
AnnieSco Premium
Thanks!

Yea, I was able to figure out the "Customize" thing, but then I had the problem of the logo being bigger than the Posts were.

I didn't know, at the time, that if you click "Change Logo" there's a button for "Edit Image" really small next to where it tells you the image size.

Since I didn't know that at the time, I instead tried going to my logo maker app & shrinking the logo really small & uploading it all over again!

When that didn't work, I finally noticed the tiny blue "Edit Image" hyperlink. Eventually, with a lot of trial & error, & switching my theme dozens of times to find one I actually like that would put the logo in centered & didn't leave tons of blank white space for a reason that is completely beyond me, I did get it to work, although I feel like now the logo lacks the same crispness it had before I edited its size.

I was a bit peeved that I couldn't change the logo or title alignment or how much extra white space is added when the logo is up, but I finally found one that I do actually like even with all of the peculiarities involved.

I'm hoping that sometime today the "Site Feedback" tab actually has 2 sites for me to give my feedback on. Every other time I've checked there were none available. I get the reason for the 2:1 ratio rule for that feature, but it does make it difficult to get any feedback.

I really hope the site looks okay now & this is the theme & format I can stick with. For me at least, the things that take the longest to get done are always the things like theme, font, colors, placement & design bc it's really important to the success of the site but there are so many options. Also, I'm the most indecisive person you'll ever meet! LOL. So I have spend hours in a row for several consecutive days on some of those choices & then often had to change them as time moved on bc that one doesn't center the logo or this one doesn't look good once you add in the things from the next lesson.

I'm hoping that it is good enough now that this can be the final one, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high if possible bc I don't want to fall too in love with the look only to have someone give feedback that the background is no good or the theme won't work well with my niche or something.... Fingers Crossed!

Thanks again for all your help!

Hey Annie great job figuring this out yourself! Don't let design stop you from your core tasks, such as finding keywords & creating content. There are plenty of "ugly" blogs that make money every month :D All that matters is that readers can easily find the information they are looking for, the rest is subjective.

With that said, if you get 5 feedbacks here on WA and everyone giving the same critique, then investigating is a good thing. Else, I wouldn't take *design* feedback too much to heart, when it's about design everyone has a different opinion xD

Hey, sorry to bug you again, but it's happening again, the same error, but this time there are no special characters, I've downloaded the image as a jpg & png, changed the name 5 times & I'm doing the same thing I always do with every other image including the 1 before this. Any advice?

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate Premium!

Glad that you joined us.

WA is an amazing environment to learn and apply our skills towards creating an online business. I tried to do this alone before and was completely lost.

Now I know why.

There are so many tricks of the trade and it saves so much time having it all laid out clearly in the WA training programs.

Keep following the training and exercises every day. Give it a year to see significant results. You'll be a happy camper by then. We all make progress at different rates and it is possible to see meaningful results in 4-6 months. Google cannot be rushed.

Google rewards people with websites that provide value to their visitors. It helps to boost their ad revenue of course! And that helps your websites get high rankings. But it takes time to build credibility. Once they realize your site is an authority site, good things will happen faster.

When you get stuck, and you will, just ask for help in the discussion area located below each lesson. Scroll down to find it. Another member who has the answer will get back to you promptly.

In the meantime have fun with the program. Much success to you.

Cheers!

Edwin

Thank you! Everyone has been so helpful & sweet! The training is amazing! Everything is so exciting!

Yea, a year is what I keep hearing too. I'm disabled so I'm not currently working. I wanted to find something I could make into a lifelong source of work-from-home revenue so that down the line, no matter my health, I'll always have steady income. I'm completely willing to put in the time it takes to biuld something that will last.

I'm still looking for something I can do for money in the mean time but long term I think this will really be helpful!

Thanks so much for reaching out! Best of luck to you as well!😊

Thank you! I appreciate the support! So far, the lessons are really helpful & easy to follow. WA training is really helping me to actually understand all of this much better & probably much quicker than if I asked a friend or tried using Google alone. All of the instructions & tools seem really amazing.

As a whole, everything that WA has to offer seems to be an effective, or maybe even ideal, way of organizing, teaching, & applying all of the most necessary, helpful, user-friendly, in-depth, & wide-ranging & lucrative training & tools all in one place & for a very reasonable price! Especially considering how profitable the sites I create using WA training & tools could potentially prove to be!

I honestly can't imagine another program or platform being this helpful & having this much potential for less money. I'm very glad I found it! All of the constant support is also a dream come true for me bc I'm so incredibly indecisive, terrified to make mistakes & I tend to WAY overthink things!!! LOL. Thank you for making yourself available!

Do you mind my asking what it is that you do? Like what kind of business you run or what your niche is? The amount of options is incredible!

Nice meeting you!

Hey miss Annie, you know as well as I know that by doing mistakes and doing wrongly or encounter problems along the way it's somehow good!

Firstly because we have tried, secondly because now we are challenging ourself to get instructed in learning how to tackle the mistakes/problem and overcome them!so we learn as this's the very scope of Life!

About me and what I m doing? well, my niche is simple and it's all about affiliate products, no matter under categories are, so I join affiliate programs and they give you the license to use your own product link that I insert in my post/review etch. to my website,
if any of my visitors click on that particular link and purchase the product I get a commission in money true Paypal,
https://a1shoponline4you.com/

also, I sponsor Wealthy Affiliate which is a great way to start in earning money ( it's a recurring payment if you get people to join WA so it's great!) and pay your annual fees with it,

anyway if you browsing profiles here at WA, look at the bottom left side of the screen under the profile photo and you can see the website and other links that members have where you could go and have an Idea and find what may it's of relevance to you
in finding your Niche,

I invite you to have a look and join my Wealthy Affiliate Australia new group at Facebook by clicking the link below, it can be useful for you, Ok.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/358235564902821/

I recommend for you if you intend to join as a Premium Member here to first utilize the $19 discount premium Membership
so you can see and use all the feature here at WA,
have a look on the new affiliate programs that we do have here with companies online that pay you to sponsor them
plus keep in mind that as a free member you get to use and see only get 25% of what really WA it's! and believe me, only the training given is fare more worth than the yearly premium membership fees!

so the $19 fees for a premium member for a Month is for you the first step to really evaluate what Wealthy Affiliate is and what can make for you happen!

then if you want to be part get the full year as it's of great Value!
( 29 dollars a month if you do that) big saving!

Ok hope to see you in the group at Fb.
