I Felt Like I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island Without WA for 4 Days

Last Update: December 30, 2019

I'm back!

Actually, I never really left. I had my iPhone with me while I was away for a few days, so I could read and connect with fellow WA'ers but I was unable to write on the WA site!

MacBook 2011....Seriously?

I had my old, yet trusty MacBook vintage 2011 with me. It runs 10.6 and that OS does not allow me to access WA because of security issues. None of my browsers worked with the site: Safari, Firefox or Chrome. I was still able to do a little online surfing, but my plan while I was away in beautiful Mount Shasta, CA was to work on some of my websites while sitting by the fire.

Not what I was expecting

I only occasionally use my old computer. It works fine for listing on eBay when I bring in helpers on the side. It works fine for running my slide show eBay class demonstrations. Yes, the battery is very limited so I stay plugged into the nearest outlet. And yes, water was once accidently poured on it's keyboard, so I use an external Apple keyboard when typing, but it is good enough, some of the time.

I can still write, but not online

I launched a dated version of Pages software and began to write anyway, only not while connected to the internet. Plus our cabin's internet runs at a snail's pace, so maybe it was all for the best. I wrote three individual blog posts for an upcoming challenge I am participating in this coming January 2020.

My upcoming blog challenge

All is not lost, I just emailed them to myself and am about to upload to my website's WP content area. I will begin publishing them daily on January 1st and at least have a plan and a head start with the blog challenge. Some of you may have participated in the past. It's called the Ultimate Blog Challenge. It's super fun and a great way to get some new readers and comments for my blog.

I am happy to say that I am back home and still have a few days off from the rigors of selling on eBay in earnest. I will be doing some re-organizing my new website so it will be ready for the upcoming blog challenge.

New ideas and plans for 2020

I have yet to write down all my goals for the New Year regarding WA and all the projects I've been dreaming about doing this coming year. That will be saved for a new blog post here. I am so excited for the New Year. I always feel energized and I know this year will bring new successes primarily because of my new commitment to WA and all it has to offer. I am so happy to renewed my focus as a Premium member this past Black Friday.

It's not going to be easy

I will be juggling my online selling and getting my old Weebly sites over to WP, AND producing new content, but I know it's possible and I will do it! There, I said it!

I'm glad to be home, typing away while connected to the internet once again and able to access WA! You will be hearing from me again very soon!

I know the feeling of not being able to access WA, but I realized that a break was actually a good thing. Even after a couple of days, I come back with a renewed vigor and new ideas. Glad you got home and off the "island." Happy New Year.
