Why Are You Here?

If your "why" doesn't resonate strongly within you, then your level of commitment will waver. I thought I'd take a moment and share with you my "why".

I am a 45 year old mother of 4 and have had to work full time while raising my kids for the past 20 years. I didn't have much choice in the matter , one salary just didn't cut it for us. We had made bad investment decisions in the past which left us with debt and add to that cost of living and raising 4 kids, what choice did I really have.. but to place my kids in day care and slave away at a job that sucked the life out of me. For the majority of my working years I held a position in the banking and finance industry. I had a pretty decent salary, it met our needs, but I could not ignore the nagging sick feeling in my gut that I fought with each morning as I drove into work.

One thought was constantly with me ..." there has got to be more to life than this.." I felt like a failure because what I valued most in life, I had put aside. I wanted to be there for my children, my family, to instill values, morals, and above all strengthen their faith. I wanted to be able to give back to my community in areas that were dear to me. My heart was in the right place but I was too physically and mentally exhausted at the end of my day that there was nothing left for me to give. Sure I took care of their needs, but the areas of their lives that would shape the men and women they'd become, I had to entrust to strangers and pray that they cared. Between my work schedule and their school and sports I'd probably spend about 1 hour/day with them and that was mostly spent making sure their needs were met and touching base to see how their day went..

June 2013 I snapped, broke down, burned out. Sitting in my doctor's office feeling as though my life was just to overwhelming, I knew something had to change..

I had been praying for change, for solutions. My deepest desire had always been from day 1, to be able to earn my income from home , so that I could be there for my family, so that I could be free to contribute my time to other areas that were dear to my heart, so that I could be in a position to give back where ever God lead me to .

WA for me was an answered prayer, a means to the end I was searching for. I started here not knowing a thing about building a website, generating traffic or earning money from affiliate marketing. But what I saw before I started was the answer to my prayers. I latched on to that. While going through my training there were days of frustration, not understanding some of the lingo, and tasks that took sometimes 2 days to complete which would probably take me minutes today. Sure , I asked myself "who am I kidding , I can't do this" or " how long is this gonna take me?" But no matter what I know I will keep at this because my need to succeed is greater. I have found the freedom I was looking for. The money might not quite be there yet, but I believe desire, passion and commitment come first and everything else will follow. That is why every day I log into WA to learn something new and apply it and to help who I can as the many others of this community have helped me.

There is one verse that keeps coming to my attention...Mark 6:33 "But seek first of all His Kingdom and righteousness and all these things taken together will be given you besides."

WA gives me the means to follow through on this. I am here because this is the door that will allow me to live my best life ever.. So you see, I can't quit, I can't allow the word quit to be part of my vocabulary.
