I've just joined WA and I wanted to introduce myself. I was told this is the perfect community for all newbies to the world of affiliate marketing so I'm very gald to now be a part of it. I think without the support of an affiliate 'village' it is difficult to maintain the level of commitment to persevere in our goals even when the motivation plummets or when life gets in the way. As a working mum I know a lot about how diffucult it can be to stay focused, engaged and awake while watching webinars and courses after the kids went to bed. I have discovered that what is also difficult for me (not sure if you have the same problem) is that I'm impatinet and want to see the results (aka passive income) to happen NOW. As I have little time I'm hesitate to invest my scarse free time to something that will not work but the down side of that approach is that very often I don't choose one path to follow and I waste time chasing after 'next shiny object' (course/webinar/affiliate programme) offering a faster way to gaining 'financial freedom'. Have you noticed that very rarely I hear about how long it took those gurus to get to generating 6-7 figure income. I keep telling myself to stay focused on one platform, one course at a time and finish it before moving to another.

So today I drew myself a little chart with a plan of what to do for the next week. I hope that by organising my tasks and having a to-do list will help in maximising the time I spend on affiliate marketing and prevent any procrastination and dabbling in too many alternative courses. I think it is also a good tactic to control my initial spendings and not go broke before I even properly started.

My goal: to create a better future for me and my family, where I have time to actually raise my children and see them grow into amazing human beings rather than just being at the fringes of their lives spending my days in the corporate cage.

So hello everyone and I'm looking forward to chatting to you soon! :)

Anna

PS. Any tips on organising my time better and staying focused would be very welcomed.

PS2. In case you are wondering the picture in my post is that of my favourite city in the UK - Edinburgh - where I wouldn't mind living at some point. For now it helps with my visuations of a perfect day/perfect home, etc :)

Welcome, Anna, to Wealthy Affiliate.
You have come to the right platform to learn how to build an online business. I believe you have gone through some of the training. Why not go through the rest when you are ready? Bravo for going premium. It shows that you are committed to your online business. Just go through the training, lesson by lesson.
All the best to you and your loved ones. Happy learning.

Welcome! I can relate with being distracted by all the other shining objects. I have a sticky note on my computer that says, money does not come easy and hard work pays off. This keeps me focused to put the work in.

We are all here to support you on this journey.

Hi @ShariP, I have a sticky note as well...a few in fact, but this one says "Stay focused and work smart". I think I've heard it in one of the motivational talks by Tony Robbins: "Is it possible to earn twice as much in the same amount of time? Yes, by working smarter not harder. Hard work doesn't always lead to succees." It really resonated with me as I grew up in a family of hard workers and perfectionists who always struggled financially so I've decided to break the mold and figure out a way to earn more and not work myself into an early grave so to speak. Hope you're having a great day!

Hi Anna and a warm welcome.
Sticking to one thing is the best Idea ever, you some of the shiny objects out there can work, But mostly not and more specifically not until you know and understand all the fundamentals..

Tip 101 shut everything off when its your WA time, and Work :)

Many Blessings Rob

Hi @OrgainITGuy great advice. It's actually on my to-do list for today to set up filters on my email account so all newsletters and other promotional updates go immediately to their dedicated folders so in my Inbox I only see what's essential to my current training.

Anna, you're in the right place at the right time. Like a fresh snow, there are no footprints, so you can make your own. You seem to be focused correctly and making a task/todo list is very important. Break down your tasks into sub-tasks and check list them so you can check off your progress.
You have a lot on your plate, job, kids, home to take care of and now WA. So, use your time wisely. Set your priorities. Family first, job next and WA, while very important will have to take its own place as you can.
You can do this.
Best wishes.
Joe
