If I am being honest, I ignore most marketing emails .
Almost every day I get emails from clothing brands, beauty stores, food apps , or websites I forgot I even signed up for.

Some get deleted immediately without me even opening them, while others still convince me to click. It made me realise that email marketing is interesting because sometimes the smallest thing makes the difference between opening an email or completely ignoring it.
Personally , I do not always open emails from brands that I actually like . Sometimes if the subject line feels too pushy or overly dramatic , I immediately lose interest . Emails that say things like BUY NOW or LAST CHANCE, YOU NEED THIS NOW! usually make me scroll past rather than click . However, if something feels personal or genuinely useful , I am much more likely to open it .
I have also noticed something that timing weirdly matters . There have been times where I have ignored an email one day , then opened a similar email one later because I happened to be interested in shopping at that moment . It made me realise that sometimes it is not only about what brands send , but when they send it .
At the same time, I think some brands overdo email marketing. Personally, when I get too many emails from the same company, I start ignoring them completely . Sometimes I even unsubscribe because it starts to feel too repetitive. However, there are also brands that email me and I do not mind them because they send discounts ,useful updates and things that I actually care about (cough PANDORA cough)
Something else that I have noticed is that trust matters . If an email feels overly sales-focused or unrealistic , I usually ignore it. However, if it feels genuine and relevant to me. I am much more likely to pay attention.
Overall, I think email marketing still works, but only when brands understand what people actually want . From my perspective, people are more likely to open emails that feel useful, relevant and not overly pushy. Otherwise, they usually unread in someones inbox
