AI Protein Shakes: Because Apparently Even Your Breakfast Needs A Prompt

Apparently, we've reached to the point where even our protein shakes can get an AI makeover.
And honestly, I had questions.
Do I really need artificial intelligence to tell me what flavour protein powder I want?
But under all the slightly ridiculous idea of an "AI protein shake" is actually an interesting marketing concept: personalisation.
What Does AI Have To Do With A Protein Shake?

AI is increasingly being used to personalise products and recommendations based on things like preferences, goals, habits and previous choices.
So instead of simply choosing from:
- Chocolate
- Vanilla
- Strawberry
Imagine a product or service that uses AI to help recommend a combination based on what you actually want.
Maybe you're looking for something higher in protein.
Maybe you are looking for certain flavours.
Maybe you're tired of buying something that sounded good online (I know I have) but tastes like powdered regret.
The technology itself isn't necessarily the interesting part.
The personalisation is.
But Is AI Actually Making The Product Better?

This is where I think marketers need to be careful.
Putting "AI" on a product doesn't automatically make it innovative.
If AI is simply being used as a fancy label for something that could have been done with a basic questionnaire , consumers might eventually ask:
"Why exactly does this need AI?"
And that's a fair question.
The technology should serve the product, rather than the product being built around the technology just so it can say AI-Powered on the packaging.
The Marketing Lesson.
What I find interesting about AI protein products isn't really the protein shake.
It's the question behind it:
Does personalisation create genuine usefulness?
People necessarily don't want more technology.
They want something that fits their needs.
That's an important distinction for marketers.
A personalised product can feel more relevant because the customer can see how it connects to them, rather than being presented with one generic solution for everyone.
But personalisation only works when it actually improves the experience.
My Takeaway.
AI can make products more interesting.
It can make recommendations more personalised.
It can even make something as ordinary as a protein shake feel like a futuristic product.
But the novelty isn't enough.
The real question isn't:
"Can we put AI in this?"
It's:
"Does AI make this more useful?"
Because if the answer is no , we just might be putting a very expensive algorithm into our breakfast.
And I'm not sure my protein shake asked for that responsibility.
My human input: This post was developed with AI assistance, but the perspective, questions, humour and final editorial decisions are my own.
