We Need To Talk! Part I
Well hello again dear ladies and gentlemen! =^.^= Woop Woop!
How are you feeling today? :)
Here's an interesting observation I came across THAT WORKS!
No, we'll not talk about money or biz (yet)....
We're back to shy and introverted people! Yaaay!
I'm sure you are noticing that by joining WA, you're taking a big step to becoming more social. Being social and being there for people, to help them, to solve their problems is what this business is about, right?
Beside of this online adventure, you get your real life adventures as well. Since you've been shy and non-social type before - by doing this work you slowly start coming out of your shell...
So there you are, meeting someone in real life or greeting a co-worker or a friend and you say:
You: Hey! How's it going?
They: Good.
You: Nice
They: And with you?
You: Yeah, good too!
They: .....
You: .....
(uh oh, it's getting awkward again)
This is so classic haha.
The Coolest Communication Tips EVER!
Ok, so when you greet a person, instead of asking: "how's it going" or "how are you doing?", try asking: "How are you feeling today?"
Here's Why:
1. "How are you feeling today" is not asking for your personal life's story, but simply about your mood TODAY. Make sure to use word "today", be in the present, do not ask about the past.
A question "How are you doing" is asking more about that person's life, and most of people do no want to talk about it, especially if they don't know you that well.
2. "How are you feeling today" means that you are interested in the person's feelings, which is a big deal, shows that you care about their CURRENT state of mind.
3. "How are you feeling today" will get much longer and better response from a person (more words than just "good thank you"), which can break the ice and make the convo very pleasant.
4. Use this in your social media - people will appreciate you saying this! <3
It's funny how changing ONE word "doing" to "feeling" can make such a big difference. Try it! You'll become more likeable! ;)
5. What if a person still answers "good". Here's some follow up questions:
"How's your morning been?
Done anything fun today?
Have you come across any crazy people out there today?"
6. Another awesome thing to combo is to change the question mark with exclamation mark. So after you asked a question, say something exciting! So what could be exciting to another person and break the ice? A compliment!!
"OMG your hair looks so cool TODAY, I'm serious, so cool!"
"WOW, listen, I just have to say this, this color really suits you, I'm serious!"
"Giiirl, i gotta say, you look on point today!"
See what I did there? I said that I was serious saying this, I said that I HAD to say this, so they better believe it that I mean it! It shows that I'm simply being honest and noticing things about them.
7. Another fun trick to say, before you say "How are you feeling today" is to comment on the person as they approach you:
For example:
"Ooo there she comes with a big smile, oh heeyy gurl, how are u feeling today?"
"Ooo there she comes, looking all cool and gorgeous, heeey how are you feeling today?"
"Ooo there he comes, like a boss! LIKE A BOSS! Hey man, how are u feeling today?"
Trust me, you will make them smile. :D
I know that I'm using very simple language and not everyone is using this type of speech, which is ok. Make it your own, so you still sound like yourself.
If you are, for example, a very formal type of person and you go out there like: WAAZZAAAAAA!~~ People will be like: Are you ok? O_O Wanna talk about it?
So, if you want to apply these sentences, feel free to paraphrase them into YOUR manner of speech. :)
More awesome and super simple communication tips incoming...
