I had to take a break.
I joined Wealthy Affiliate after I had already put in a lot of time into learning how to build a website. When I found WA, it amazed me that all the tools I had been trying to figure out were all in the same place!
This place also taught you how to use the tools the most efficiently and how to avoid common mistakes. With that came this incredible community that was eager to help and encourage.
I finally felt like I wasn't alone on this journey to making money online.
So many places I came across were just in it to get your money and they offered very little compared to WA. Here I felt the energy of everyone wanting me to succeed. Instead of getting jealous of others success, here it is the encouragement and hope that we can make it work for us too.
So when I came to this wonderful place, I felt a lot of excitement that fueled my fire. I learned how to build a website, how to write quality content, get recognized on search engines and how to make money from affiliate marketing - all in a much shorter and efficient time than if I had continued learning on my own.
For a month straight, every day, every bit of free time I had I was working on building my sites, writing content or going through training. I made a lot of progress, fast.
But then it hit me, I started getting discouraged. "What if I'm wasting my time on this?" Along with many other doubts started to surface.
I had my hesitations in the beginning, but pushed through them, diving all in. My first goal was simple, make enough to pay for my membership. And of course, it would be great if I made anything more.
But I was getting close to my first full monthly fee and I had not made even a penny yet.
So even though I paid my fee, I just took a break for two weeks.
I cleaned and reorganized my house, went on a trip to visit family, and tried not to overthink my websites. I did keep coming up with ideas for blog posts, but then I would let it go and trust that when I came back to work that I would remember to write about it.
Well I'm back as of this morning, and I have already written 6 new blog posts. I decided to use the draft feature on Wordpress and write my thoughts on a topic freely without over analyzing everything I say. I will get the content written and go back to proofread, edit and add images.
I didn't think I would ever really use this feature because I am too critical of my writing so I don't want to post it until it is "perfect." But in the training, Kyle encouraged us to just get the content out there and continue to improve it. So I am trying this and it feels nice. Everything just flows.
I feel like that break did me a lot of good. I really let things go, accepted that whatever happened with this, I would get what I needed from it. And now I'm back, feeling refreshed and more inspired than ever!
I feel great and just wanted to pass on this positive and creative energy to all of you out there grinding away too. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
Thanks for reading,
Angel

It does help sometimes to take a break and then come back with a fresh pair of eyes. All the very best pushing forward :)
Angel - Don't feel alone. I think we all go through this stage at some point. But the important aspect is that you did not QUIT! Congratulations. Steve
