it's a lot to take in

From day 1 on wealthy affiliate I felt a little overwhelmed. I thought there's so much to take in and so much to do but where do I even start? I was determined to "figure this out" so running wasn't an option.

I introduced myself in the chat and and received a warm welcome and lots of advice that was very helpful. I was directed to a couple of blog posts that I found very helpful and so I started taking notes. I think some of the most helpful advice I received was "baby steps". "don't get ahead of yourself".

I noticed the notes I was taking would be helpful but would be needed a bit later. I thought if I never get through step 1 I'll never reach the final step. Again I thought "Oh no where do I even start!" I had already been told several times to start with the training section. I finally clicked on the training tab and suddenly I was in a whole new world.

This "new world" is very exiting. I finish a task and can't wait to start another. I am taking my time with each lesson and taking notes as I go. I complete a task and with each one I feel a sense of accomplishment.

I completed level 1 of the training and I am now on Level 2 lesson 3 and I saw 15 tasks! my head started to spin and I thought there's no way I can do this. Then I thought wait a minute yes I can! I had to remind myself to breathe. Then I reminded myself it's already broken down for us I need to stop trying to do it all at once.

I have talked to a few friends and family members along the way and as I expected I'm getting a lot of it's a scam don't do it! or you won't make any money it's a waste of time. Each one is fuel to my fire. They are making me mad and that motivates me to keep going just so I can say "I told you so!" However all the naysayers can drain your mental energy if you let it.

A friend of mine swore he only knew 1 person who was successful at affiliate marketing. He swore he knew a few people who had tried it and weren't making money. He swears there's no money in this but he would love to be proven wrong. I couldn't help laughing at this one. My response was: Challenge Accepted! Lol he should know by now that when you challenge me I will rise to it.

Since this program is broken down step by step for us already there's no real reason not to keep going. I just have to remember to focus on 1 task at a time. Remember the "baby steps." This is a learning process and it will take time. Take lots of notes to help make replicating the process easier with future niches. Remember "Rome wasn't built in a day."

I must say the distractions around my house are frustrating. I get dogs jumping in my lap, my kid always needs something, my mom always needs something. I sometimes feel like I will never get a moment's peace. Then I remember there's always bedtime I can do this in my room if until I fall asleep if I need to.

As I continue with the training and taking notes I feel more and more accomplished with each completed task. I get more and more excited. I also have to control my negative thoughts and keep going. I am constantly having to reign it in and keep pushing forward. I am learning to deal with the distractions and a pause button on the training videos is a very handy tool. I've used it a few times and even had to back up a little bit to make sure I caught a certain part a little bit more fully.
