Back to Real Life
Holy Smokes! The summer is almost over and I return to real life in a few days. I say "real life" because I am an Educational Assistant that gets laid off every summer and hired again in the fall for the school year.
At the beginning of summer I was diagnosed with a muscular imbalance in my legs ( was prescribed, by physio, to do two hours of "working out" per day......yup, TWO hours!!!!). At the same time I also discovered Wealthy Affiliate! So, for almost two monthsI have been working out and studying WA courses. That is pretty much all I devoted my time to.
Well, yesterday, I had my last physio appointment, my legs are way better (still need to some exercising on a regular basis.....as we all should). School/work starts next week, so I will also now be spending WAY less time working on my courses here. :(
I have learned so many things this summer about affiliate marketing and website building. It has been a real journey. One, I hope to keep up with in the evenings and weekends Some of the hi-lights of the summer are:
- I have a website
- joined some affiliate programs and have some ads up that are related to my niche and posts
- learned about Amazon one-link ( well, still kinda figuring it out :)
- joined google+,posted some articles, still getting my head wrapped around the communities and groups
- posted articles to Facebook and Pinterest
- found out my (very old and never used) account from Twitter had been suspended for some reason (I lthink I was hacked) I have appealed for it to be re opened but was denied. Will probably have to make a new account.
- currently working on the fourth of five lessons in the course
- Made a special connection with someone here that I share similiar career interests with, this individual interviewed me and generated a post about me (and my career). That was very sweet!
- Oh, yes, I have to say that Google Analytics is fantastically fun!!! Allmost,in a distracting way though. I have spent so much time checking it and getting excited over the handful of people checking out my site and watching what pages they read in "real time". At times I have to make a concentrated effort to click off and go work on my articles...lol
- I can actually write! That was a suprise. It had been years since I sat down to put pen to paper ( or fingers to keyboard ) in any significant way. I was not sure if this would be a successful venture for me for that reason. So far, so good, I guess. No one has told me they have no idea what I am talking about and I have not recieved any crushing feedback on what I have done so far....lol
On the topic of writing, when I started here, I saw this blogging area. My initial thought was, " I can't see myself participating in that!" Reason being, generating content took me a long time. I should not tell you, but my first article took me four days. I was so particular and careful, checking and double checking EVERYTHING! Over the past couple months, I have become faster ( not where I would like to be yet, but am getting there).
Anyhow, I just wanted to say thanks to the community for helping me through some of the blips I have had along the way. Wealthy Affiliate has been very informative and a great deal of fun!
Anynow, thanks everyone. See you soon!
