Hi
I'm really struggling to get this website going, as I don't feel I can write at least 1000 word articles.

I hated writing essays at school, and often found I was r

Have you gone through the training? If you haven't, I think you might want to do that first. This will help free up the writing block which you might have. When you don't know how to do something it can be difficult to make things happen. Think about that for a moment. It's all about learning and applying friend. I see you have a pet. Can you write something about that pet that will be helpful to others on your website? Just an example for you. All the best!

Hey Andy, the thing is we are here to learn, and writing is an acquired ability; think in terms of the folks you help with IT; they don't know, so they get you in.

Over the years, we build that knowledge.

Try not to overthink it; honestly, in the beginning, many of us struggled with writing. It is a process the grows on you.

Don't worry about the word count; start writing each article will become easier. Take it from me I lived on struggle street for yonks, now writing and me, are very good friends.

If we fight it, it becomes a battle, relax and work your way through the training.

The about me doesn't have to be a masterpiece straight out of the gate, don't forget we have an edit button.

Best wishes.

Alex

Thanks for the advice, I'll try to take it on board.

Don't think about the word count.

Determine the subtopics /subheadings at the start, and then write on each one as much as needed to explain the idea and not to get 1000 words. And write with the simplest language you can, not as if you were writing an essay.

After a while, you would find that you already exceeded the 1000 without realizing that.

If you can answer the search query and cover the topic without writing 1000+ words, that's great.
That's why we go after keywords with low competition.

Once you feel that you can't add to the article, publish it and head to the next one. This is much more productive and relaxing than trying to make everything perfect.

Thanks. I guess I've seen a lot of posts and articles saying it must be at least 1000 words. For me personally, I tend to get bored with long endless posts, as it should get to the point.

Exactly.
It's about giving a comprehensive answer, which is different from one topic to another when it comes to word count.

When you start a new article don’t think about writing the whole thing in one go. Think about what you want to talk about and write some sub headings out. Once you’ve done that just write one sub heading section maybe 200 - 400 words. Break the article up. Even if you have to spread it over a few days.

Yeah small manageable chunks seems the way forward.

You have some good advice in the comments below. You have to make a start. Start by blogging on WA. Choose a subject and begin to write in a word processor until you are comfortable. As Diane says, write like you're talking to a friend.
