I've just created my first post on my blog http://australiatravelwork.com/blog and I wanted to shorten a video for this post. This is how I found out about a handy site to crop Youtube videos before adding them:
Maybe it's something you could use as well, I find it very handy to be able to only share a section of the video.

I used to use Faasoft Video Cropper to crop almost all kinds videos like YouTube, MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, WMV, MPG, 3GP, etc.
With it, you can crop videos as well as keep or change the aspect ratio and crop videos as well as keep or change the size of the video files.
