Blessings in difficult times

Blessings come when you least expect it, but desperately need it. I know that for sure because were going through difficult time this year, four of my family are not working they started a business, but didn’t work out it bankrupted, I was looking for new accounts for my company to improve and not finding any connections.

I started with wealth affiliate and loving it, I love how the community are helping each other, but the training is taking to long, I tell myself to be patient, but when the person is cornered and there is no way out, anger and frustration sets in.

But where are difficulties and despair, God sends a blessing to give hope to everyone that happy times are coming, and this phase is going to pass.

This year difficulties were enormous for us, from financial hard times to my Aunt going through chemo the second time after 4 years remission.

All these accumulated into mountain of worries and anxiety, and it showed in our health. Every week one of us had to go to the hospital. To me it was our body not handling all the thinking and worrying about the situations .

Financial difficulties are there I think to teach us to cherish what we have now and enjoy it, otherwise if we just spend without appreciating it, or just going through life thinking that we deserve these things, or it’s our right to have them, then it will be removed from your life, and then the real lesson will start.

We are created as human to live in communities, with different personalities, different goals or background for me the reason for that is so we can learn from each other, and appreciate the gift of life that was given to us. I believe that every challenge we go through are lessons to teach us how to be better people helping each other. But the best thing is to be thankful.

Asking for blessing

My family went into hyper mode for asking for relief. But relief came in abundance. Prayers are a request’s for relief from a greater authority, we pray for a money, for kids, for a good job, for health and for variety of other things.

Answer was sent

Our praying paid off big time, while we were going through taking care of my Aunt in the hospital, she was going through excruciating pains with chemo sessions, and got an infection on top of that.

We got a call for a meeting of the elders of our family from a different tribe.

We are African, so our tradition is if a request comes for a meeting between elders of two tribes, then it must be answered, and arranged immediately, out of respect for the elders, the meeting was set, we actually didn’t know what was going on.

The meeting was actually to ask for the hand of my sister for marriage for one of their esteemed families, and asked our elders, my brother and my mother to think about it.

My family asked about the person who wanted to marry my sister, In our tribe there are specific people who do that, they go and initiate miniature call center to call internationally and ask about this guy, his family, his friends and his past history and if he is into any type of drugs, alcohol, or anything else.

The feedback came very positive. My family were overjoyed and excited, the report gave excellent family lineage, and personality on the person and the elders recommend us to go forward, my sister accepted him after talking to him for a couple of days.

We were happy for my sister. The future husband tribe was to come on Friday for a formal request with witness for engagement ceremony.

Two days before the visit day was filled with happiness and anxiety, as preparation for engagements party was underway, and this happened within 7 days, usually it takes months of preparations and meetings.

But Friday came and everything went smoothly, with minimum of mistakes and misunderstandings. That was the biggest reason for considering it a blessing.

The two tribe elders met in the evening, they repeated the process formally, and were accepted and it was official, they were happy with the degree of respect and dignity that they were given in our family house.

We had to announce to all of our relatives, my family will come from all over the world, from Norway, Sweden, UK, Canada, Australia, US and off course from Somalia. The big wedding will be in Jan, that will give us time to prepare for it, and that is another blessing.

I learned that in the most difficult time God will send a blessing to cheer us up and give us hope, as my mother always says after the darkness of night comes the light of the morning.

Blessings can be found in small things, waking up in the morning, being healthy, a child happiness, a mother laugh, tears of gratitude, if we stop a minute and look for blessings, our days are filled with them, we just need to slow down and appreciate our days, not only complain, if we changed the way we think, we will see blessings in everything.

I know some people don’t consider engagements as blessings, for us it’s a door to new beginning.
