Advertizing Works Right?
Your Ad Here
Advertising methods, so many, which ones to choose? Free advertising is nice and a great place to start. We have word of mouth, and posting on social media platforms. Then what? Big advertisements like signs and billboards maybe?
Do billboards actually work? Somewhere around 70% of people choose to look at billboard ads. About half of those people actually learn or are interested in the ad they are seeing. We all do it. Driving/riding along and billboards everywhere, looking left, now right and left again.
Unconsciously, our brains are flooded with ads. Even if that visual lasts for a mere second, my mind is taking snapshots. Later, when I am hungry, I might remember a food ad I seen an hour earlier. Yep, my mind is convinced, that ad just brought that company my business.
"A billboard ad has influenced me, and dare I say, everyone out there, a time or two before."
Are you looking UP?
Are you at the point of looking for bigger and better ways of advertising your business? Well, visual experience is a huge part of our world. If you are ready to look beyond the horizon, then get people looking up! Up at your billboard that is! After some research, numbers seem to be a bit in the favor of advertising on billboards and literally EVERYWHERE you can.
What kind of advertising is right for me?
Social Media, Pay Per Click, Broadcast, Direct Mail, Email, Billboards, Global, Print, Out of home advertising, Word of mouth, Business Cards, etc.
Let's face it, the world is full of so many ads we don't even know the difference between an ad, a brand, logo or label. I bet from where you are sitting, as you read this now, you can look around and spot a few different ads.
Any small town or major city is flooded with ads, labels, logos and business "hooks." We get lost in a sea of over stimulation and its no wonder we might get scared a little about even stepping foot in the world of advertisements for our own business ventures.
Just remember, they are everywhere because they work.
Ads are obviously a staple to our everyday lives. For example, the label on a soap bottle is advertisement for a "brand" they have their logo, their website, their promises and guarantees and words to entice a customer.
You see an ad once and it might get your attention. You see an ad again and you start to become familiar with it, you see an ad again and your memory kicks in and you decide that maybe your interested. Third times a charm!

Hi Amelita, wow! I had to have a double take when I saw this post. I thought it was something to do with the project that I am working on.
I am setting up The Billboard Network, is a advertising network for small businesses owners.
Good to see someone thinking along the same lines about the importance of visual cues to attract customers.
Yep, you said it! Visual cues are leading the way through our every day life for sure!
Great business idea by the way. Catchy Image too!
All the best to you.
Thanks for the feedback.

Good post, Advertising definitely works, you only have to look at Google & Facebook for that, WE spend billions on advertising collectively, with the ROI being measured by the sign ups we get.
There is NO one way which is right, but a collection of different types online, especially the one you mention which is banner advertising, that provides the best bang for buck there is, bar none.
For the last I dont know how many years, I have used a variety of tested and proven variety of advertising sources to build my list (all of which are listed on my own blog)
I get paid by a combination of the membership from these site and also from the sites themselves, which then enables the following for me
1) My List Grows
2) I get commissions from both my advertising membership portals & WA
3) The commissions from the advertising resources, let me scale my advertising larger to get more clients
4) I get paid via a combination of direct to patpal to bank and via BTC to Coinbase. This last method means that, I get paid from Coinbase and get larger payments to scale my advertising, without using any out of pocket expenses.
Just my experience, but so far and it has been 12 years and counting, it works.
Wow thanks Dave for sharing your success tips with us! Your testimony is proof that advertizing works for sure!
My one issue that I have is advertizing on FB. I tend not to socialize much on there but have just one personal account.
I tried a business account but FB has so many rules and it makes me afraid of getting banned if I make a mistake trying to promote my business. I do need to do better at that for sure.
I tried linkedin also and that seemed okay.
A few methods are out there that cost little to no money for sure and they do seem to be efficient enough.
From what I have learned, paying for advertizing is best left for the big businesses.
Maybe if a person had enough knowledge on how to shuffle spare cash into advertizing methods, that would be the big step in turning a small one man operation into a larger scale company ready to hire! :)))
You hit on some great points and got me thinking for sure. Thanks for the engagement on my post as it sure helps to get a conversation flowing.
Well Dave, all the best to you. Glad you found your knack for the world advertizing hoopla ;)

Fakebook advertising most likely works if you have lots of Moolah. I avoid the platform like the plague. If it was a pub in my town I wouldn't go in it.
Linkedin far better and business oriented
Thanks for the laugh, agreed :)
Glad it made you laugh
