There Is Always Time

I read an article from the WA page that inspired me to write this blog. Some people join hoping to make money quickly. When they realize that that's not how it works they are quick to want to cancel or close their account. The first thing I want to say is all good things come in time. The foundation (training) is important to anything that will be strong and successful. If you don't put the time into your journey may not be as prosperous or successful. To people that are newer here, I have found the community quite welcoming. There are many tools for users to help you along the way. Just remember this doesn't happen overnight and it does take time and effort. I hope all who join are successful on your journey!! Have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read.

You speak very true words, Amber!

Jeff

Absolutely spot on! This is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes time and hard work.

Good things come to those who work for it. :)

This is true, many people still think that coming online and putting up a website with a few banner ads is somehow going to make them lots of money?
I have looked at several nice websites from people in this community who have pages and pages of awesome articles with all the bells and whistles, videos, and lots of images, or photos? Please don't take this wrong guys, but I don't know why these beautiful sites are just sitting there collecting virtual dust!

Listen, after you build that site guys please do yourself a favor and don't forget the stuff that will make sure Google knows your there and then starts sending visitors your way.

Google Search Console, as well as, Google Analytics are both essential elements of your overall site's performance plan!

I'm not going to explain how to sign up for those, other than saying that you really should do that without fail.

I use the MonsterInsights plugin for my Google Analytics go-between. Meaning that once you activate the plugin you will add your Google Analytics account code information and MonsterInsights will make the reports you can then see right on your site how many sessions you have had, pageviews, bounce rate, and session duration.

If you don't know what's going on with your website how can you possibly fix or adjust anything? I don't suggest guessing? Don't waste valuable time!

Use a good SEO plugin like, All-in-One-SEO (AIOSEO) and there are many more but that's another article in itself. Once you activate that plugin it will create a sitemap for your website.

Now, the reason I started with these particular things was for this. Once that sitemap is made you take the URL for your site map which should look just like this:

https://www.your-website.com/sitemap.xml

Replace the "

http://your-website.com

" with your website's domain name

Then you take that sitemap URL to your Google Search Console account and in the left sidebar under the "Index Heading" click on "Sitemaps".
Why do you suppose Sitemaps are under the "Index Heading"?
You got it because after you submit your sitemap to Google they will follow that link to crawl your website.

Now Google knows who and where you are and with any luck, Google will then index your site. Once Google has crawled your site the odds are in your favor that you will be indexed

That guys is just one of the preliminary steps in getting free organic search traffic.

I tested a few things on a site yesterday and I was kinda shocked that none of the many pages on this site were not ranking for any keywords with content going back several years. I have a site right now that I have been working on since October when I bought it.

I've put a lot of hours and work into optimizing this website and finally, things are picking up. I only earned $17 in December which I was lucky to get within two months.
Now, $95 in Feb $110 in March, $140 in April, and this month I am really watching?

If you look at my site please note how the post " Title" has keywords in it, those same keywords or a close variation are also in "Post Headings" or h2, h3, etc. tags.

Images or photos should have your keywords in "alt tags" if your keywords are in your post title they will also be in the URL for the post,

Furthermore, at the bottom of your post editor page where you will be working on your post the SEO plugin that I told you to install earlier, will have a place for you to enter the "meta description" which allows you only 160 characters to describe in your best words what your post is about incorporating your keywords and something catchy to get people to click on your website.

You see, that "meta description" is exactly what shows up for your post on Google when someone searches for your keywords that you are now hopefully using in all those things I mentioned. Please do not overdo it with the keywords otherwise Google will think your stuffing your page with them on purpose.

So use them as I suggested and in your content of the post use them two or three times depending on the length of your article. My articles are anywhere from 1000 words to 3000? You can also use synonyms. A thesaurus is handy for finding words that mean the same or nearly the same thing.

I hope it keeps going up, however, with the world going crazy and the economy struggling at the moment things could slow down?

Please, you really should be targeting a different keyword on each new post.
If you use the same keyword on several pages you will quite literally have your website's pages competing with each other!

That's just not a good idea.

Right now I have 73 keywords ranking in Google's top 100 which may not sound all that good, however, considering the millions and millions of websites online being anywhere in that 100 is somewhat of an accomplishment.

However, unless your site not only makes it to Google page #1 in the top 4 positions the chances of your site getting seen are slim! That is not my opinion, it's a fact.

Anyone who would like to talk to me about "their own site" if your having trouble you can leave me a private message please and I will get back to you asap.

I really hope that some of you take the time to read this and take a few notes or just paste the whole thing into your notepad on your computer to refer back to.

Like I said, leave me a message if I can assist anyone with anything related to your SEO needs.

Take Care All,
Tips528 / David

P.S. I forgot to mention that in WordPress the Title of your post counts as your
" h1" heading tag which means in your article you should only use headings starting with "h2" and so on h3, h4, etc.

Google is funny about this sort of thing and having more than one h1 tag per page or post may lose you some visitors.

This is how you want your site to perform. Page speed is another Google sticky point.

This is a site I use for all of my websites. It not only gives you awesome details about your website and the information in the form of reports you can look at about your own site is tremendous! https://gtmetrix.com

Thank you for the insight. I will definitely have to take a look at my sight.
