Dissapointment and Perseverance

Perseverance in the midst of disappointment. This is the lesson I've had to learn over the past few weeks.

My progress here at WA has been very slow-going, and at times it's been very frustrating. I just want to jump right in and devote as much as possible, but having 2 small children at home doesn't make that possible, and I've had to be content with the pace I've been keeping, knowing that "Slow and steady" wins the race.

This morning my mom took both my children for the day. I had FIVE uninterrupted hours to work through the training here at WA and create content for my website!! As many of you here probably know, as a parent, 5 hours with no kids is like finding gold! I sat in a coffee shop and plugged away, so excited to finally be making some progress. I wrote my entire WA review post. It followed the CIAO guidelines ( Captivating, Informative, Accurate and Opinionated) I was so happy with it! I got all the way to the end before I remembered I forgot to add my WA link. I left the page and copied the link...but when I came back, all of my content that I had so painstakingly worked on, was gone. All except the very first paragraph. I searched and searched, and did everything to figure out what happened. I asked for help, I called a friend. I retraced my steps and went over everything again and again in my mind, wondering what I could have possibly hit or done to erase it all. To no avail. It was all gone. I was so distraught! I just wanted to curl up in a ball or throw my computer in frustration, but as I sat there in the little coffee shop, I asked myself what I could learn from this experience, or what I was supposed to learn from it, and I happened to remember a verse I commonly refer back to when times get tough.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."

This verse comes from the book of James in the Bible.

I know it t might sound kind of strange, but in that moment, I realized that I could either:

A- Give into my frustration and disappointment

or

B- Learn from it.

Giving in would mean accepting defeat.

Learning from it would mean continuing to persevere.

So I'm choosing to persevere and keep moving forward. I truly believe WA was brought into my life for a reason so I'll keep on going till I reach my goals...even when obstacles are thrown in the way.

If any of you find yourself in a similar situation, I encourage you to choose the path of perseverance. It might be hard, but I know it'll be worth it in the end!!

good post go forward and do not look back

I am sooooo sorry that happened to you! :( But how encouraging it is a Bible verse pops in your head right when you need it, and it makes sense! That happens to me as well! God bless you girl for not giving up, and pushing through! You're going to succeed here!! :)

The Bible is actually our life owners manual the answers to all sorts of questions are there as long as we look.

Thank you So much! ❤

It is so very easy from time to tie to get distracted from the tasks at hand. Budget your time and treat your new business just like a regular job.

Thank you for the helpful tip! :)

Hi Amber,

I can relate to that frustration. It is like trying to catch a cloud once the text has disappeared. Where does it go??????

You have a very strong will to make things work. That is going to ensure you success in life.

All the best to you.

Thank you for sharing your story and your words of wisdom with us.

Susan

Thank you for the kind words :) I sincerely appreciate it!

I can't count the number of times this has happened. Amber. I just step back, take a break in 10 minutes come back renewed. The best thing is that it gives an opportunity for better than the original redundant writing!

Encouraging to hear I'm not the only one this has happened too! :)

That has happened to me twice - so frustrating - so I can share your pain. But you picked a great passage from the Bible to comfort you. What I have started to do when writing posts is to hit the save draft button after every paragraph. At least that way, when these little glitches occur, you will have everything except the paragraph you are working on. All the best as you build your business!

Thank you for the tip!! I will for sure be doing that from now on! :)
