The old adage will have to be applied if you can't beat them join them...only really what you would like to do is see If you can out shine them! and why not if you make this a real business and allow WA to carry you they get the shine too so it is like a three way freeze tag game....make a few dollars first before you decide something is not worth it
I mean really you sat around pondering an idea only to see that what somone else saw the same need...when you do the market research correctly you will find that what you should be doing is selling to the people that come to you.

In swimming this is called exhale and release. when you pull someone into a conversation exhale and when the conversation begins to turn into a cash flow release the stress of not being good enough and just swim.

Your site will be different, because you will put your touch to it, your insights on it, your point of view on it. And that makes it different. You don't plan on using the same information as is on their site or the same pictures. So you don't have to worry about it. Besides, you have different people who will be looking at your site. And who knows, an arrogant person may be the person behind that other site. And if not, well, it is still not going to be the same. You will have different backing, different ads, different ideas, and it will be you, not them. If you are worried about competition, well, don't be. That just makes it more fun. Make your site better, bigger, and a lot more than that other site. It may be there, but yours can be better. See it as a challenge not as a deterrent. Only you can determine if it will be a threat or a challenge to do your site better. Good luck.

I never look at another site as competition because those people who don't want to buy from them will buy from me!

That's one of the spin-off feelings of finally finding my true purpose, I've hidden all the other work and am concentrating on one site-the one I'll be truly unique in.

Here's what you can do. Check the traffic level of it and see if it has a high volume. If so, you can mimic (not copy) some of the things on this site. It's called a traffic hack.
I've not done it, but I have heard that it is very successful.
