One Website, One Focus: Why Pausing Helped Me Move Forward
Hey WA family!
I wanted to drop in with a heartfelt update on what’s been happening behind the scenes since the second week of June—and wow, what a difference a few intentional steps can make.
🎯 From Juggling to Focus
I have three websites in different niches, and as much as I care about them all, trying to maintain them while expecting solid results became exhausting. So, I decided to pause the other two so I can focus solely on the site I’m most passionate about.
The clarity, energy, and direction I’ve gained since then? Game-changing.
🛠 Simplified Website Improvements
One of my biggest wins: I built a new Homepage using GeneratePress Blocks—no page builder, no fluff. It’s clean, fast, and reflects the vision I have for this site moving forward.
📬 Email Marketing Reset
I also took the time to clean out my old subscriber list and start fresh with Mailchimp. I added a sidebar sign-up form and a pop-up offering a free downloadable PDF.
In just two weeks:
📈 First week: 21 subscribers
📈 Second week: 17 more
Now I’m gradually migrating to MailerLite for better automation and segmentation. But for now, I’m sticking with Mailchimp for my email series (which I’m doing manually) and RSS-to-email campaigns.
📌 Pinterest: Back in the Game
After almost 3 years of silence, I’m finally back on Pinterest! This platform was a major traffic driver for me before. Thanks to consistent pinning, my site once hit 10K monthly visitors!
👉 I even shared this with the community here.
📣 Relaunching Facebook and YouTube
After nearly 3 years of silence, I’m also active again on my Facebook Page.
Even bigger news: I’m preparing to relaunch my YouTube channel! 🎥
I previously had one with 85.3K subscribers under my brand name, but sold it in May last year because I couldn’t keep up.
Thankfully, the new owner has since renamed it, meaning I can now use my original brand name again!
🔥 Recommitting to the WA Journey
As I mentioned in my previous update, I’ve returned to WA with a renewed focus and a fire in my heart. I’m more determined than ever to grow this site—not just for traffic or income, but to genuinely serve others and glorify God through my content.
Thanks for walking alongside me on this journey. Every comment, post, and insight shared here pushes me forward. 💚
Let’s keep building—brick by brick.
Now I’d love to hear from you:
👉 What’s one significant win or breakthrough you’ve experienced lately?
Whether it’s a small shift or a major milestone, share it in the comments—I’d love to celebrate with you!
With gratitude,
Alice

Pausing to focus on one site clearly paid off — love how much progress you’ve made in such a short time. The email list growth, Pinterest comeback, and getting ready for YouTube again? So exciting! Cheering you on as you keep building, one step at a time
Thank you so much, Marija! 🥰
Your encouragement truly means a lot. It was tough to hit pause on the other two, but narrowing my focus brought so much clarity and momentum.
I’m definitely feeling more aligned with where I want to go—and having cheerleaders like you in the community keeps me going! One step at a time, indeed.
Excited to see where we both end up on this journey. Let’s keep building! 💚
Hi Alice. I've been therer too. Too many sites and not enough attention to each. A very important message, especially for new starters.
;-)
Richard
You're right, Richard.
We often hear this from successful WA members, but we don't seem to take it seriously until we experience the journey ourselves. 😁
Hey, Alice, I love how you shared your progress. Focus is important, but we all judge ourselves so much. I think I'm back to that square one now, judging my homepage, which is about my core message. Do I want referrals or book sales?
Thanks for sharing this.
John
Hey John, thank you so much for your kind words!
I totally get what you mean. That inner tug-of-war between clarity and self-judgment is so real, especially when you're trying to align your homepage with your deeper message and goals. I've been there more times than I can count!
I actually took a look at your homepage, and I have to say, I was impressed. It already reflects so much thought and purpose. Maybe you’re not back to square one… maybe you’re just in the refining phase, getting even clearer about what matters most right now. 🙂
Whether it’s referrals or book sales—or both—you’ve already laid a strong foundation. Keep going, and thank you again for sharing your thoughts!
Ah, one person here is helping me make it even better now, giving me steps into creating relevant sections and content. I'm grateful about this. Thank you for the feedback!
John
You're welcome, John. The next time I peek into, your site, I'm sure it will look even better.

I thought I could manage three websites at the same time, but it turns out I can't! 😂
Have a productive week, Nichola.
Sometimes we burn our candle at both ends! Glad you figured things out. Thank you!
