Many times new affiliate marketers might have the question when will a new website make some money, yesterday we got a Third Sale On A Young Site
Hello everyone.
First I must say I'm not an affiliate marketer with a lot of sales on a website to call me a professional, but today I know the feeling to see a young website to start working good!
Yesterday, I read here a blog about the sad feeling of seeing a young website (three or four months old) not getting enough traffic and not getting good results.
I know that feeling, I've been here on Wealthy Affiliate for 5 years without seeing good results until today.
Young Sites Might Stay In The Sand Box For At Least Six Months.
I came here to WA to learn to make money with my blog, I tried my own way and it didn't work at all, during the first months here, I got the idea to quit, I didn't but I kept doing things my own way.
Two or three years later, I got the decision to do the training again from the beginning to find what I was doing wrong,
This could be seeing as a step to be humble and get to know I didn't know what to do and how to do it, and I'm glad I did that !
Things started to change for good, but not good enough.
If Something Doesn't Work The Way It Should Be, Look For a Teacher.
We all are lucky to have the best teachers to help us to work on our websites the right way.
I started to follow some of the good teachers here, of course I listen more to Kyle, Carson and Jay, but I also started to pay more attention to Nathaniel, Roope, Dylan, Jerry and many more.
As they share some tips to help us, I started to pay attention to those tips and how they write their blogs here.
Believe me, you can learn also a lot from them.
Start A New Website And Follow The Training.
Last August, I told my husband I will start a new website, (I know I already had 5 websites with poor results)
But I told him, I want to start a niche site from scratch and follow WA and Jay's training.
I choose a niche where I know something.
I started to work on it, and then my husband told me he could help me to write some reviews for this new site, that moment was when my site become our site.
We kept working on this site and it started to get some content.
Zero Visits Makes No Money!
One month working on this new site with very poor results, but we kept working on it.
By this time, I decided to stop working on the rest of the other sites.
Focus on One Site At a Time.
Month 2, 3, 4, With Poor Results, But Trusting The System.
We kept working to create more content.
Month 5 and 6, Google Starts To Love Our Site
One morning we saw some good results on traffic! That moment can be the best feeling for any affiliate marketing.
Goal - don't quit, keep working on it! So we kept working on that site.
Month 7, This Site Is Getting More Traffic
This is still a young site, but I see how the traffic is improving to 30 to 40 visits per day and some day we even got 60 or 70 visits.
Keep at it, Don't Quit
It's month 8 for this site, and we got the third sale, we are safe with Amazon.com!
But the most important here is to see how following the training and keep working with every step of the process is working good.
The feeling of working for 8 months, two persons working almost every single day on this website, seing day after day poor results, but trusting the system is something we all need to learn.
At the beginning things can be hard. You put money, time and lots of work, you see time passing by and no results!
There will be that day when you don't feel like checking Google Analytics or Amazon, because you are tired to see poor results always.
You might get the feeling of "should I keep doing this or not"
But I got two mantras:
- Trust the system
- Follow every step of the training
A Message For Newbies:
You might have heard it many times, but do the training as many times as you need to.
Learn from other members, ask questions, and keep working on your website.
Don't expect great results from a new website, unless you're a pro and you know a lot about writing content for a niche site!
If you don't get results on the first months, keep in mind some sites will do really well during their first months, but that is not the rule, some site will need lots of work and time, before you see some money coming from that site.
The most important here is, you are in the best place to learn how to build up your own website to make a living from it.
You have the best teachers here!
Keep working on your first site, second, and maybe on your third site, you learn more on every new post you write for your site.
Today, I'm feeling so happy to see good results from this site, but I know, there a lot of work still to do, but I also know I'm still learning more with every new post we write.
So keep at it, you will see how your website will work good as you keep working on it and as it ages.

Thank you for that inspirational post Alejandra. I am only two days in, but I looked at my competing websites and my confidence just sank. My wife had to make me remember tat I am only working on it for two day now, and the other sites might be years old.

I'm glad to hear your wife gave you a good advice, I use to say that to my husband too.
Some sites have more years on the internet, and they might have a full team working on them too.
Our sites might start little, but with the good work and time, they will grow and age well.

I want to congratulate you on your success finally. You are the spirit of determination that never give up. I am not here a year yet, and feeling so frustrated sometime, and I know why, but for me writing contents is a major problem for me, but the more I read and try to comprehend what I read and to write it out, I stumble and walk away.
However, this post sink in to me more to push on all the way.

A brilliant account of the trials and tribulations of the new affiliate marketer Alejandra and I commend you for sticking at it when so many others would have quit.
But in time you and your husband will have your dream lifestyle and the quitters will still be doing their 9-5 or looking for the next best thing.

I've felt the need to start over so many times. We did get the advice in the training from Kyle: that it is easier to work with what we know about. You can move at a much faster rate when you know exactly what you are sharing on a website.
Sharing your experience has given me the extra push that I need.
