Hi Everyone,

I hope you have all had a successful week wherever you are in the world.

I cant help but look at the news broadcast from more and more places with images of war, and think is not looking at all good for 2025., let alone the last quarter of 2024.

Let us hope that international leaders can bring some sanity to what is happening in our world day by day escalation of conflicts that can only bring about more misery suffering and poverty, most of it inflicted on innocent people.

How I thank my lucky stars that I was borne in a time of relative peace and that growing up I did not have to endure the hardships, risks and sacrifices that our fathers and grandfathers did in the second world war and before that the first world war.

Relatively few survive at all from prior to the second world war now. Every now and then a new story emerges about bravery and sacrifice that was undertaken without thought for personal safety. How I admire the people who brought about the relative peace after the second world war.

I did lose a relative in Korea in 1951, and I often think how unfortunate he was, having survived the whole of the second world war in active service, only to be snatched from his wife and young son at the time, and what hardship that brought on his family for the rest of their lives.

I believe in practising gratitude and I am thankful for those who have kept the relative peace of recent decades, and wish good fortune to the diplomats and negotiators to bring an end to suffering in all the places where there is war in the world right now.

I wish you all a forthcoming weekend of peace wherever you are in the world.

Alan

Rick

Hi Rick, I agree totally, cheers Alan.

There are more wars because leadership focus is not to better the lives of people ratger better serve their own interest and of those near and dear to them.

Hi Kalim, let’s hope some compassion for the innocent victims of war finds its way into the consciences of those in power, cheers Alan

🤲

All is being revealed. Those in charge have no regard for the rest. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Alan.

Susan

Hi Susan, I agree, you would think there would be more compassion for the innocent victims of war, best Alan.

Alan,

This was a good read. So many wars and rumors of war in the world. Thank you for sharing.

Andrew

Hi Andrew, thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. Cheers Alan.

There's more war due to a lack of leadership and a lack of consequences.

Hi Jeanine, yes I agree it takes courage to be a peacemaker when the easy route is war. The trouble is there are always so many innocent victims. Thank you for reading and commenting, cheers Alan.

War is horrible an yes, there are innocent victims. It is what it is. But that's not a reason not to go to war, to just give in, because that ultimately leads to even more innocent victims.
