Creating Domain & Sub-Domain

Hello Awesome WA buddies :O)

Background

Going forward with my project, i chose to go for a private domain i mean a domain name that i own then to create my first site as sub domain under it.

Why ? (Purpose)

The reason for this decision is that after i wrote my initial Goals (short & long terms) on paper to establish my business project plan, i notice that my project or lets call it online business most likely will encounter several expansion phases and i wanted to ensure that my business foundation can and will accommodate those future expansions.

The issue

After i purchased a premium domain name from https://www.namecheap.com as one of the recommended well-known third party domain name registration company (i've done extra home work by researching and reading end users/customers reviews), i redirected the hosting address to WA site.

(for this part search the general knowledge page here at WA site or visit the links at the end of this blog. )

Now, here is the issue, when i tried to create my first site choosing " On a Domain i Own " option under the " Build my site " tab, it asked my to choose the domain i own from the drop down list, so far so good, however when i do so, the site will be created at the root domain it self and not as a Sub-Domain as i planned, to explain it more my domain name is e-commercena.com and when i did the above steps i got my site as http://www.e-commercena.com which not what i wanted.

what i want is to create a site under it called easygifts so my first site will look like this http://easygifts.e-commercena.com and here i learned from the awesome WA members that i need to create a sub-domain first.

so to create a sub domain it is so easy with WA .. just do the following:

1- just go to the " Site Rubix " management platform (image 1)

2- Go to the "Site Domains" tab (image 2)

3 - click on " Add Subdomain " (Image 2)

4- it will now asks you to choose the name of your new subdomain under the root/main domain you already created and redirected to WA host site. (image 3)

5- type in the name and click "create" (Image 4)

6- Dona your sub domain is now created and your domains list should look like this (image 5)

Woohhaaa now you can go and create your first site as a sub-domain under your main domain.

Hope this help others to not to face this obstacle or to avoid it if you are not planning a big mesh of sites and sub domain stay with in-house provided domains and sub domains by WA site & Rubix it still awesome and powerful and will get the job done easily :O)
