Do you own a brick and mortar business?

I am guessing that a lot of you do, without even knowing it!

What I mean by this is you have a blog, you try to sell things from your blog aka your business, it is your storefront and you market your products to get people to purchase them, via social media, SEO or whatever other medium you decide to use.

This essentially leaves you with a brick and mortar business, it leaves you with a solid, fixed place of business where people must go in order to purchase your products.

Is this a good business model? In my opinion no, why would you miss out on all the opportunities there are?

It's time to wake up and realise that this is the internet, your store front is not limited to your blog, it is not limited to any page or post or keyword or anything to do with your blog.

What if you could sell your products anywhere? What if you never had to worry about traffic or writing engaging content ever again?

"this man is crazy!"

Or am I?

Think about this for a minute, people sell on Amazon because they know there are millions of people looking to buy stuff there every day, it's a no brainer really, why go and open a store on a street corner where someone may or may not notice you're open, when you can place your products where millions will see them and sit back and relax and you're pretty much guaranteed a sale or 2.

Or what about supermarkets, they decided that they'd put a butcher, a baker, fresh produce, fresh seafood in a place where people were already coming to buy tinned goods, now the convenience the supermarket offers makes them billions every year because they know that people are already coming to their store, so they might as well expand the list of things they sell.

So what am I getting at?

Well instead of relying on your blog, why not find a community (and don't be an asshole about this) where like minded people meet, perhaps your a car enthusiast and you belong to a facebook group that loves cars and you're chatting about car stuff (not really my thing so not sure about "car stuff") and someone asks "what spark plug should I use on my blah blah blah v8 chrome something..." then you say "holy crap, I know the answer to this!" so you search on amazon (or wherever) find the product and ADD VALUE to the person who asked the question, by not only presenting them with the product that will solve their problems, but telling them how and why it will (this is really basic sales stuff here guys, you find someone with a problem, you solve it, you get paid) this business model is extremely sustainable, for 1 you're going where people are already in need of such things, if you're helping them out and helping them get what they want when they want, why shouldn't you get a bit out of it to.

So why not give this a try, join a google+ community or a facebook community related to your expertise and ADD VALUE to someone while you add value to yourself.

You don't need fancy pick up lines or sales jargon, all you need to do is be open, honest and sincere in your approach to helping the people in the community.

Please note that you WILL need to establish yourself in the community before you do this, you can't just go in and be like "yeah dude buy these spark plugs" people WILL NOT TRUST YOU" they may click your link but thats about it.

And again, don't be a douche! Make sure you are honestly adding value to someone, help them out and help them solve their problem.

Hope this helps some people, this is a great way for newbies to get their first sale also (as I know Amazon kicks you off their affiliate program if you don't make a sale pretty early on).
