Very wise decision as far as I am concerned!

Once you get your website built and are starting to add content don’t be too worried about the looks until you get about 40 pages of content published, then you can drop back and start making it look nice.

A nice looking website is not going to get you indexed faster but massive amount of content will, a pretty website is not going to get you ranked in the search engines faster but the more quality niche related content you submit will.

Lastly a pretty cool looking website to begin with is not going to help you start making money quicker but getting a bunch of content on your website for visitors to read will.
