Unblock Your Path, Another Adventure Awaits.

Hello all! Just wanted to take a minute to share a little tip I've discovered in my short time in the affiliate marketing world.

Some of you may already use this technique and some of you may not have even thought about it before today. I do know that, when I figured it out, it was like an AHA! moment.

Here's the scenario...

You wake up to another day and continue your journey through this crazy, awesome life. A journey that brings you challenges and triumphs and all those fun little adventures we get to go on everyday.

Like clocking in at the office and discovering 37 little fires that you need to put out. Or chipping away at that mile-long honey-do list your spouse keeps piling on. Or sitting in bumper to bumper traffic doing your very best to keep your cool until it's time for the guy in front of you to JUST MOVE OVER ALREADY! Or traversing a building-block minefield just to finish up the laundry while simultaneously carrying a limp, screaming toddler because you wouldn't let them eat the cat litter.

Or those rare little side-quests like frantically running around for 5 minutes trying to find your car keys, only to find them...in your hand. Those are fun.

But you're good at what you do, so you survive and if you're anything like me, we always have article and blog ideas rolling in the back of our minds. One idea leads to another, then another, and another. In our minds, we have 2 or 3 or more articles nailed.

So, once all the mines are defused, fires put out, children herded; we find ourselves sitting down to write and build! Blank page pops up, fingers set down, and then......UUUHHHHHHH...

Nothing.

You're blank. You know it's there...

Our daily adventures have made our battle-weary minds and tired bones very evident. Our world is full of stressors and sensory overload. Both of them can wreak havoc on the mind.

Some of you more experienced members here at WA probably don't have that problem as much. I imagine that, for some of you, content pours from your fingers like water. Or maybe I'm wrong. All I know is that I'm not at that point and sometimes I get snagged and blocked. It's really frustrating. And I'm sure there are others here that do as well.

Visualize

Human beings are very visual creatures. As we know, it's important to use pictures and video in your blogs and throughout your sites (but not overdone) for that very reason. We are drawn to it. We connect to the visual.

My tip is not to add pics or vids, we already knew that, but a tip to help you visualize your written content.

Speech-to-text. Talk out your ideas. For a lot of you, I bet it's way easier to talk your ideas out rather than type and craft them. Especially after a day like today, right? Whew. But don't get me wrong, there will still be typing and crafting needed. With speech-to-text however, you can talk out your ideas and help VISUALIZE the words on the page.

Once you start to see your thoughts on the page, often times it will kick start your creative engine. When you go in to tweak and re-structure your choppy, one-liner, thought-notes, you'll realize the engine is running and off you go!

The site I use is Speechnotes: Speech-To-Text Online Notepad.

There are others as well, some free, some paid. This is just the one I use.

It's a simple little notepad used for notes. Just hit the record button and talk it out. Take your notes and copy into your page, tweak, re-structure, add, build, finish the race.

Here's a fun example of the connection of the human mind and the written language.

Waht wulod hpapen if I srtetad tiynpg lkie tihs? Lkoos werid rhigt? You mhigt sgrtulge to raed it at fsrit. The ftrhuer you raed, heowevr, the esiear it bmeceos to usdtnnread. Taht's basuece the hmuan mnid deons't look at a wrod leettr by lteter, iansted, it lkoos at the wohle wrod as an iamge. Wtih the frsit lteter and lsat lteter the smae, the rset of the lteters can be an ulgy, jmbuled mses and you wlil slill be albe to raed it. Yuor'e pobrlaby raenidg rhigt trhuogh wtih no pelobrm by now. Pterty cool, huh?

Visuals are a very powerful tool. They can unlock creative doors for us and help us solve problems. And we have enough problems in life, don't we?

Uh-oh, forgot to get milk today...

Anyway, Thanks for reading peeps! I hope this was helpful in some way.

As always, I wish you all the very best. :)

Ad Astra!

I have learned a lot from your post! it's wonderful the different ways we pour our ideas onto paper, I do like "speechnotes" that's a good way to create. Thanks very much.

I like this ..it can also be useful for people who have an auditory preference as they can map sounds into pictures and then words.

My personal favourite is mind mapping. If I am stuck I shove the idea down in a map then I'm off writing.

I am also global in preference so I have to think headlines lines first then content.

And just think your words made me think of all that , then I began destructing my strategy. Thanks for sharing. Phil

Thanks Phil! Never thought of it in the sense of an auditory preference. Very cool! I've never used mind-mapping. I'll check it out. Still learning a lot.

Cheers
