Instant Gratification Will Delay Your Results

We all want instant gratification when it comes to joining a new business opportunity, whether it is a MLM, Direct Sales, Drop Shipping, Affiliate, or running a traditional franchise.

We are conditioned by the "Lazy side of the brain" to expect things faster without having to work for it expecting things all the time to come fast to us.

One thing my mentor taught us recently that hit a nerve and I know this you can relate to is how we expect the world to owe us something.

You have this feeling of entitlement already programmed inside of you. Hey listen up loud and clear what I am about to say here the world doesn't owe us jack squat! Yes it really doesn't.

One thing people have to understand is we all can't become rich by NOT putting in the time, money, and consistent effort in our business.

It's like what one of my favorite comedian's Kevin Hart said, "People All Want To Be Rich But Don't Want To Put In The Work!" So true...

So here is a piece of advice I will give you if you're a student, leader, or in the learning phase of your business.

Whenever a customer or one of your prospects asks you "When Am I Going To Make Money With This?" or "When Can I Start Seeing Results In My Business?" you must tell them the truth.

I don't play, I keep it real and I always tell my clients here's the reality of building an online business. It all depends on what you do starting today, how serious you are, and being consistent because it will take time and patience before the results come.

If you can’t deliver instant gratification, then be upfront about it and stop trying to be nice by "Sugar Coating" the truth. This is a real amateur move because you are not running your business as a entrepreneur your running it based on you wanting that quick sale.

Obviously you aren't where you are now yourself if you knew building a successful online business was going to be easy; so don't lie to people just so you can get a quick sale out of it. There is no integrity in that mindset.

Lead by example, let your customers and prospects know, “Sorry, but you’re going to have to wait because it will take some time to learn these skills and see the results.”

It's okay to tell them what you can do and what you can't do for them. This also establishes that online relationship and trust factor customers look for before purchasing from you.

I trust you got value out of this post and if you like to share some other ways you had to handle a customer's desire who wanted instant gratification or even if it was you who went through this phase post below your comments.

We want instant gratification because that eliminates the need to work.

Absolutely spot on! We all want instant gratification with our online work. We want to upload a blog post with affiliate links and then witness lots of sales within 24 hours.

But that seldom happens.

MLM is a thing in my distant past and it leaves a sour taste. That marketing method offered me a 'road to my dreams'. But without a 'downline' that gained the same rewards, it died early.

Nobody owes anyone else anything. We were born naked and we die naked. Only our efforts will bring us the success we yearn. The work we do now will be rewarded later on ... so long as we 'stick' to it and don't give up!

And you're right Ace ... we must tell the 'truth' from the outset. We affiliate marketers can't deceive people. That's nasty.

Most people aren't as daft as the deceiver looks.

If you tell the truth, you WILL gain credibility. And with that comes TRUST.

When people trust you, they will tend to BELIEVE you. It's simply being 'honest'.

Don't use copywriting techniques that act as ruses. We see that all over the Internet. Yes, there are gullible people out there, but they quickly learn 'who' stung them.

So tell the truth. A quick sale is worth absolutely nothing in the long term.

That's just gratification.

Whatever you're promoting, 'believe' in it. Don't just go to Clickbank and grab an affiliate link and kind of work on it. You have to know what you're promoting and inform potential customers how good the offer really is.

From the heart.

Do that, and I bet you can build a 'responsive' mailing list for further products.

It all comes down to how much 'effort' you put in.
