My WealthyAffiliate Journey - Part 2

I am going to try to make the My WealthyAffiliate Journey posts on a weekly basis, sharing with you some of the things I have accomplished and learned as I grow my website.

I had some interesting conversations with several WA affiliates over the course of the past week and and have gained some really good insights. Without going into too much depth, I was having some real trouble getting my 'About' page completed, and to be completely honest it still isn't quite done.

I would like to share a little about what the underlying cause of the struggle is. To begin with, I currently have several web projects (non-affiliate marketing based) that I have been working on. One site in particular has a very similar theme to the UnleashedAffiliate site that I am building as I go through the affiliate bootcamp course here on WA. There are several key differences, but the underlying purpose of both websites is to help people succeed in their business ventures.

That being said, I am working very hard to define each of the two websites and what its primary role is, who the target market is, and the content I want to place on it. Now as far as the second website is concerned, I have really put the project on hold in order to give UnleashedAffiliate my 100% attention, until it is fully launched and being promoted.

The other challenge I am facing is one of an internal nature. It is a fault of my own, and maybe one that many others here can relate to. Over analysis. I have lots of experience with technical writing, developing project plans, and documenting processes. That being said, I am very used to analyzing the things that I write to ensure that it is very black and white.

With UnleashedAffiliate, I have been trying to analyze exactly how to express what I want to accomplish, and word it in a way that draws the reader in with complete clarity. However what I have found is that blog and article writing is nothing like technical writing.

So today, I made a decision, maybe the correct decision, maybe not, I do not know yet, but time will tell. For me it is kind of an epiphany, and I realize to others it may just be common sense. I realized that 'for me' the purpose of the UnleashedAffiliate, is to share my knowledge and views with others, to help others grow. My decision is this, I am just going to write it as I see it, share what I learn, and hope that it helps others in their own personal growth. I am going to write articles and post them without revising them over and over to get the wording just right. I am going to take all criticisms and comments as a learning experience, but I am not going to dwell on whether or not I said something the right way or not. If others enjoy my posts, find useful information in my posts, then I have succeeded. If others don't like my posts, my writing style, or my views, that is fair too. There are tons of resources out there.

That being said, I know that I am an intelligent person, with a proven track record in my own career, I don't need others to tell me if I am writing something right or wrong. I am also human, and may make mistakes along the way, and I always welcome others opinions, but my goal is to share in the hopes that it will help others, not worry about those who don't like the way I express things.

So there, I have written this blog post with no edits, it is probably more a ramble than anything else, but if it helps one person (or at least entertains one person), then I am happy.
