Gimme yo money

I see so much of this when I poke around the make money niches.

Much like the participation trophies at child sport events, folks are showing up thinking their mere presence is enough to rain the cash down on them.

They deserve it.

They are special.

They showed up didn't they?

After quickly seeing they don't just get money for showing up, some will quickly leave. Saying it was all a scam.

The rest will move on to phase two of gimme yo money.

Here you will see more separation occur, as some who are serious pay attention to the training offered at the guru money niche place and start probing for ways to fit it into who they are.

But...

a sizable chunk won't do that.

They will try to force the money where it doesn't fit.

"I don't know anything about computers, but they are high ticket and can make me a lot of money. Can my niche be selling computers?"

"I want to teach people how to make money online," all the while they've never made a dime online.

"I want to have a blog on travel," meanwhile they've never ventured 50 miles from the neighborhood in their lives.

"How many affiliate links can I put on one page?"

"How soon can I put affiliate links on my site?" (at least this question shows some semblance of awareness that folks might not be flocking to affiliate links and might need something else as a draw).

It can't be about the money.

I know this sounds counterproductive, but it simply can't. The moment anyone stumbles across your site and feels like they are being swarmed by salesman at the used car lot they will make their quick exit.

You have to bring value to the visitors. And value isn't boxing them in with various options to give you their money.

Many come to the make money sites desperate for money yesterday.

It just doesn't work like that.

This is one of those areas that is like a garden.

It takes lots of care, time and just the right nutrients.

Money to nurture it, to buy the right tools as you put in just the right seeds.

Patience to watch those seeds, wondering which ones will sprout and which will not.

Then after a long time of nurturing the stronger ones to grow, the time for harvesting will come, and along with it a possibility someone will give you their money.

You have to have the crop ready to sell before someone will buy it though.

Jason

Thank you for this blog post Jason. I really enjoyed it and I like you compared websites to gardens. I agree it is not and should not be all about the money. People need to be providing value to visitors. It can be a long and hard process because the make money online niche is saturated because of all of those gurus but consistency is key.

I struggle with this niche myself because most people that see my content either won't give me a chance or think I'm doing it for the money which is not the case. I do want to make money with my website one day but I do genuinely want to help people but not everyone sees that even though my articles are long and provide value.

All those gurus and scammers have ruined it for everyone who is legit and want to help people. I'm going to keep at it though and help whoever I can. Thank you again for this great and interesting blog post Jason. All the best to your success.

Hi Timothy,

Thanks for reading and your awesome comment.

I think in regards to your getting past the natural skepticism so many have nowadays the answer lies in overcompensating the other way. Minimizing the pitch and amplifying the information. I've seen this work tremendously well for many bloggers who almost mention what they are monetizing from as an afterthought.

While not all who are here deal with email list collection, I believe for those who are going the minimization route it is an invaluable tool. It allows us to maintain contact, and to draw them back to our site for the new helpful content as well as get our monetization back in front of them.

I was also intrigued by some of Partha's posts on this. He does some sites that are ad network only and has some sites making a decent amount from them by solely focusing on quality content with no salesy affiliate pitching.

His blueprint definitely made me rethink the ad network route, and I contemplate sometimes if for many of us that is a more realistic approach as it tosses all the need for sales out the window and we can just let our hair down and connect.

Thanks again for stopping by and leaving such a rich comment.

Jason

You're very welcome Jason and thank you for your great reply. I agree having quality content is key and being to salesy will drive people away. I will try to make my content better and I will check out Partha's posts and have a read of some of them.

I will also read some more of your blog posts to as I really liked this one and I look forward to reading some more of them. Keep up the great work. Thank you again for your great reply. All the best to your success.

Great analogy and advice. Thank you!

Great analogy Jason!

Just shouting "gimme yo money" will not cut it in this game!

Time, patience, nurturing, being consistent and persistent and above all providing value is what will eventually bring in the bucks... hopefully!!!

Great share my friend and enjoy the rest of your weekend! :-)

Thank you and likewise :)

Appreciate your reading and kind words.

Jason

You're most welcome my friend and very much appreciated!

Show me the MONEY??? I want instant gratification yo! :D (jk)

hah hah

I honestly don't know where you get your patience from.

Maybe a week or so ago I read a post here where the person said they aren't a writer and wanted to know how to blog without writing. I was at a loss as to what to even say to something like that.

"I have no medical training, no desire to acquire medical training. How can I be a surgeon?"

I could go on but feel myself slipping into rant mode and will spare you and the community, hah hah.

Thanks for stopping by.

Jason

I read those too, but if they are good at YouTubing, they don't have to write then, and they can eventually make something.

However, they have to train and be good at something.

Thanks for your response.

Absolutely! The message very well stated!

Although I may say that it’s not all that had sold a Mercedes Benz owned one, nor one that had sold a lot of saladmaster cookware set, owned a set!

It sometimes fell on how creative one gets to be and do a good job in placing real good content in a website, that breaks the deal!

Not everyone that gets to blog succeeds! That’s because of what you just stated just now! Anyone can blog, but it now rest on how well one does it, how well the tools are used, how well social media is tapped and utilized , etc.

Thank you for your blog Sting!
Enjoy the rest of a beautiful Sunday!

Cheers,

Hi Maria,

True about not all who sell own one. But I can also say there will be much emphasis placed on said salespeople to learn and understand the products they are selling. The odds are stacked against folks just showing up and the salesperson pointing with one hand at the product and their other is stretched out waiting for cash to grace it.

I would dare say most who blog aren't successful, and I attribute that to the expectations and motivations involved.

Hope all is well with you :)

I have to go back to work tonight, am tired and cranky and got a text from my co worker I'll be by myself. Joy of joys, hah hah.

On the plus side, I'm almost done writing a post (not the long one I'm procrastinating on) and it will probably be done tomorrow or the day after.

It's similar in theme to this one, although I made sure not to write it anywhere near the same way so they aren't competing with one another.

Hope your new site is gaining steam.

Regards,

Jason

Oh thank you! I am working tonight as well. And the nights that I worked have been on a rough side lately!

Every thing is going well so far.

Just had just 2 inquiries from my new site and few impressions, but nothing after that!

I have to improve my website and tweak it better, I know that!

Hope you feel better Sting! Take it easy on yourself!

Cheers,
Maria 🌹
