What Keeps You Motivated?
Hello everyone! I am writing my first ever blog post here in WA. I just wanted to share something that has plagued me for months and months on end.
I joined WA in July 2017, but I have not really put in the effort to create and grow my business. In other words, I did not commit to it and I was lazy.
I have been asking myself why am I not motivated as I should be. We all at some point hit a roadblock and get distracted. I guess, it is because it is easier not do anything than to work hard. It is such a big problem, but with discipline, proper planning and widening of perspective, it can be addressed.
Here are the things that I am currently employing to keep me motivated:
Shifted my goals to non-monetary outputs
It feels disheartening to not see any income, especially while you are just starting. Like many of the beginners, I find myself searching for blog posts about how much other WA members earn, instead of working on my business.
I knew I had to stop being impatient.
Instead of focussing only on the money goals, I decided to actually look at my outputs instead. I have no direct control of the money that will flow in through my online business, at least at the moment. What I can control now is my outputs in terms of good quality content and beefing up my website. I would like to think of it as preparing myself for success, essentially. This simple change in perspective has helped me get out of the trap I was in.
Planning my steps on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Yes, writing your goals definitely help, but without planning to keep you on track, your written goals are just that, written words and numbers.
I have a lot of ideas. And I do believe that you need to catch them by the tail when they come, otherwise, they will just disappear. I know because I have had so many stories that never came back and never got the chance to be written.
I wrote all my blog post ideas and there were heaps of them. All I have to do now is to write about them.
To be successful, I am getting myself into a routine of writing and publishing two meaningful and useful posts a day.
If I feel the drive to keep on writing, I add two more articles and schedule them for publishing the next day.
If I keep doing this in the next 30 days, I would produce at least 60 fresh and good quality articles. I hope to stay at this pace for the rest of the year and keep on investing my time and effort.
Constantly reminding myself about my current life situation
I am not exactly living the life that I want right now. I do not feel very good about it and I want it to change so badly. This is more than enough to actually keep me going. Why? Because if I don't move, nothing is ever going to change.
My desire for a better life has significantly increased.
I want to be free. I want to keep on writing and I want to travel again. I need to keep moving now!
Thank you for reading up to this point.
I hope this post will help those who are currently delaying their success. Stay patient and you will be naturally productive working on your business!

Great post and an excellent plan.
Hope you can stick to it (I find it difficult to do one post a day as research, planning, selecting images, writing the actual post and doing the SEO is time consuming).
All the best
Thank you :)
I agree, each post is time consuming indeed. I just have more time available now and I am taking advantage of it. I usually do the research today (keywords and outline of topics) for the posts that I will write the next day. So far, it works.
I do plan to revisit them after 60 days to see which ones need improvement.
