Happy 94th Birthday Mom

I'm am so happy that I got thru the first phase of getting my act together here on WA! Can I get a WOOT, WOOT!? I just celebrated my Mom's 94th birthday! We had a great time! I got her a really nice white orchid, with a miniature purple orchid and a bamboo tree all in the same pot. It's really pretty. I also go her a Toblerone chocolate bar (her favorite), a couple of great cards. One is of an owl that she wants to frame and hang on the wall. I made her a Turkey sandwich on a red wine cranberry bread from Homeboy Bakery, with a little mayo, spicy mustard, garlic and herb goat cheese, avocado, arugula, organic dried cranberries, and heirloom tomatoes. That is her absolute favorite meal! She could eat those every single day! I got her a fresh fruit tart that had fresh mango, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries, on top of a thin layer of custard. It was just okay, because if you threw only the crust out of a 2nd story window and it hit someone in the head that person would reincarnate right then and there! Maybe a Pitbull could get thru that, but I assure you any human teeth would be challenged! Thank God for the Key lime cupcake minis I bought for a back up plan!

After lunch we went to a park that's on a good size hill, and sat on a bench under a tree that overlooked the city. The view was amazing even though it was a little hazy, and the climate was 75 degrees with a soft breeze blowing on us. We both sat there and crocheted together. It was so peaceful and serene. She said it was the best birthday ever!
