Website Design
Hey all, I hope everyone is getting on well with building out their websites! I have been focusing on writing articles for my website and I would like to begin focussing my time on the actual website layout and design portion. From what I've seen and used in WordPress, the free templates are totally useless in terms of creating something worth scrolling through and actually reading... Is it worth it to buy premium access to a website template? It just seems like an unnecessary cost... there should be a free way to lay pictures onto your article thumbnails and insert background images that are EASY to manipulate and lay out... I am still learning as i go, but I am finding the design portion of things to be a hassle.
When I attempt to insert a background image, it annoyingly duplicates the image cut down the middle, in a repeating pattern, with no reason whatsoever. The controls to layout said picture in Elementor are ARCHAIC at best... "position image center, align, scroll, repeat," none of it actually does what you want it to... There are few links to even insert images and content anywhere with the exception of your articles while you're writing them... am I missing something?

Hi Zach, every new website you install is going to look "blank" in the beginning but as you progress through the WA training, you will be building up the sites content and look. This is like a painting that starts as a blank canvas and gets better and better as you keep applying the training.
Aa for your question on premium, if you mean the WA premium membership, I do highly recommend it.
If its premium themes, then no, not for now. Premium themes in websites should be considered down the line and personally I prefer the generate press theme above all others I've used.

So I kept going with the training and totally overhauled my existing articles. I had to remove the old ones as they were stuck in Elementor. So upon republishing everything and copying all my content over and reformatting, my articles do not show up, and furthermore, my template will not change to my new one... It's like my domain has locked and is unresponsive to changes i make. The dashboard is displaying everything as it should be, but when i go to 'visit my site" it shows me the previous version i just spent hours rewriting.
Hi Zach, so here's what I'm thinking happened:
1) THe reason you're not seeing your site's page is because you didn't set a custom menu. This is normal when switching themes and just requires a simple custom menu update to the new theme (so it shows up).
2) The other thing about your site not showing the pages sounds like you may need to clear your cache for the updated site to show up.

Quick question, did you upgrade to premium today? I just don't recall seeing the icon earlier.
I just tried creating the custom menu but no luck. I'll contact support. i cleared the entirety of my posts and the trash bin and still no luck. I'll keep you posted. thanks

It was a browser cache problem. Clearing data sorted everything out
