You can be smarter than me but you will not outwork me
I remember my first international conference. I was a representative of my country in an intenrational competition where we were to come up with how to deal with a global pandemic. It sounded impossible to win. But one line by a mentor inspired me "You can be smarter than me but you will not outwork me"
With the iinspiration, I worked together with a couple of friends 15 hours a day for an entire week. We covered every previous outbreak in detail. It was about 5 months before the outbreak of corona. Before we took the flight out of our country, there's nothing we didn't know about pandemics and epidemics.
And when we took the podium, we blew away the attendees and judges. We were thorough. Everything was covered from economic, social, political and religious stand points. We knew the predictions and how to deal with every issue that could come up.
We Won
Yes, I took the trophy home with the help of a couple of my friends.
Standing there and being applauded made me so emotional. It cemented my faith it hardwork. I learnt that it trumps everything else.
Came to Pass
As the coronavirus pandemic set in, I couldn't help but realize it was following all the patterns we had predicted in our global case competition. It's also exciting to see part of the strategy coming into play.
Bottom Line
When you have doubts about how you will become visible in your niche, remember, it comes down to how hard you work. Your competition can be smarter than you but don't let them outwork you.

Zayk,
Your post reminded me of my second day I was a member my mother called to give me some statistics about how most online businesses fail. She quoted something like 90 percent. I just laughed and asked her what that had to do with me? The reason I said that to her was because I don't worry about where I might be, instead focus on where i want to be.
That's exactly the spirit. Keep at it. If 90% fail, then all you have to is to focus enough to end up in the 10% that succeed, right? All the best.
