Looks Vs Speed- Making the Right Choice for your Site

Picture this, you have to pick between a car with breathetaking looks but with a slow engine and an average looking car but with a powerful engine. Chances are that you'll opt for the breathetaking looks. And that's what I did with my site theme and learnt the hard way.

Ranking

Although a great looking site is key, the site speed is more critical. At least for Google ranking which of course determines your traffic and subsequent earning.

Previously, I had a site that was pleasing to the eye. I loved it and everyone who saw it fell in love with it. But one probelm, my numbers of SpeedInsights were heartbreaking especially for mobile view.

The Sacrifice

I had to say goodbye to the looks and say hello to a simple lightweight and ultrafast theme. I definitely love the way it loads fast and still looks decent,

Final Thoughts

When it comes to choosing between speed and looks, choose speed because at the end of the day, your site is your business and its all about the numbers,
