Why I seem to fail in my eyes.

If you are like me, you set the bar high with new goals.

Okay, so maybe I set the goals way too high. I seem to do this every single time. So, what does this lead to? Failure to achieve those goals. (In my eyes at least.)

Why do I do this? I have to think that I have built up a self-confidence within myself that enables me to tackle new things. I get the mental image of Hercules battling the mighty Hydra. I go in with my sword and dismember everything that looks at me, only to have a nightmare evolve right before my eyes.

How does it escalate to this so quickly?

I will say "WE" because I am the main culprit. We need to set "rational" goals that we know we can achieve.

So far this year, I have put far too many irons in the fire. I can't get the fire hot enough to be effective in working with the metal. So what happens? Nothing. Nothing happens because I can not focus on one iron.

I am not a metal worker. I hate working with metal in any way shape or form. But, I'm using this example to get my point across. Put one iron in the fire, heat it, work with it and finish it.

I will be focusing on my short stories at this point in time. My wife is really pushing me to focus on them and my longer book/books because she sees that it makes a difference in me.

If you want to read them, please take the time to do so. I have no ads on the site and I will continue to keep it that way because I want people to focus on the words of the story.

You can find the short story link on my profile page along with the other stuff I call "irons".

Thank you for your time and I hope everything is going great with your websites.

I am very similar to you. I also set very high goals for myself. Maybe I wouldn't feel like I failed if I set more short term and achievable goals. Mine are always long term with no short term ones to get me there. Thanks for sharing.

I am like you Zavier I fall into a negative zone which I struggle to get out of sometimes, but I do yoga 4 times a week which has helped me dramatically. Sometimes you just have to sit and clear your head completely and decide what your next goal is and follow it through!! As soon as I feel a negative feeling or thought I strike it down straight away, throw it away!!!

My partner is also a huge support to me and if it wasn't for him I would not be able to find the time to even do this whole course. I know we can achieve anything we want as long as its a realistic goal and if we take baby steps, don't focus so much on the big dream so much. Enjoy your journey, I know if you are like me I am not very good with computers so that frustrates the hell out of me to the point of just walking away from it for a few hours, LOL!! But I am not giving up, remember all of these successful blogs and websites online today all started with just one person, and that could be you one day in the future :)
