6:Finally saying hello to people who are following me...
If you look at my profile it says I joined at the end of 2012. I went Premium in I think it was April this year. But I didn't start at WA properly until the summer holidays in late June. So I've not been here all that long, but plenty long enough to have worked out how to set my account settings so that I'd get a notification in Gmail every time someone sweetly decided to follow me.
I was getting some notifications about other things, and couldn't understand why, when I signed into my WA account, I'd see that someone was now following me, but I hadn't had an email about it.
It's hard to keep up with all the friendly people here unless you're getting those handy email notifications that are so convenient to click on when you want to reply and so, much as I have with my 'admin' paperwork at home, I fell woefully behind in saying 'Hello!' and 'Thank you!' to people who were now following me.
If you are one of them, you must have thought me really rude. I hope not, but I certainly must have seemed a bit indifferent...
So two nights ago, I finally FINALLY started exploring parts of the big WA screen I face every day. First I clicked, for the first time, on 'My rank' and went 'Ohhhh!' because I hadn't understood that before.
And then I scrolled down the page to the left, in the column, where I bet most of you have already been many times, and saw 'Account Settings'. I clicked on that and there I saw, down at the bottom, where I could click on 'New Follower', among other handy dandy notifications, ensuring that I would now be able to say a timely 'Hello' and 'Thank you!' as well as 'Welcome!' and 'Isn't it amazing here?!' when anyone decided to follow me.
So, if you are someone who has followed me in the last three months, and I never replied, I'd like to say, 'I'm sorry!' And 'Thank you!' 'Warmest welcome to you!' And 'Isn't it amazing here?!'

Nice of you to do that. Actually, I am sure a lot of us are in the same boat. I try to get around to everyone that I follow and it is a hard task. This is part of a price we pay for being in such a great community.

Ain't it, though? It's a good problem to have, too many great people to hang out with and learn from! How do you manage keeping up with people, Dave? Do you answer as you get the messages or do you do them all at once at a certain time of day?
Both, when time permits and on my phone sometimes during lunch. I like to read most of the posts that grab my attention first and then go back to all the responses that I get in my email.

It is wonderful. I have never found so much friendly, timely and generous help. I have however paid a lot more for help I never got. Glad you are happy here too!
Hey there Trialynn! Yes, it's a very encouraging, positive environment. An antidote to insecurity and negative thinking, you know? Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Kymee! It's good to speak to you again, now that I'm all tech-ed up and have found my Account Settings!!! (Yes, I know... so incredibly technical!)
How are you doing? I haven't checked out your profile for a while. Been up to anything interesting?
Just now starting a new site and looking to take a english class. for my grammar and writing skills.
I really need to try the 30 30 challenge with SA I will get the nerve up some day. ; O).
Glad you are getting around better, hope you ask questions if you need anything, I am the type that won't and then when I do I am so mad that I waited.
