So first off I just want to thank everyone for the amazing community that they have created and are a part of here. It's truly something wonderful to see everyone helping and showing encouragement.

Starting out

I've learned a lot over the past week and a bit. Started out learning about email marketing just over a week ago and through doing niche research through that I came across this site. I have some trouble with how disingenuous some parts of email marketing can be. Sure most have been there, signing up for a 'free' gift and discovering it's not quite all that.

So I decided to give this place a try because I loved what was shown. It was a similar idea to email marketing but you are actually creating something of value in your site. People would voluntarily come there and decide if what you provided is useful or not. You didn't need to 'bait' someone into giving up their email address.

Getting into it

So since then I have been here going through the learning material. Finished the free lessons and based on, I think the first video, I signed up for premium and got right into it.

I like something tangible are I can see the results, even something basic. That example of footballsnackhelmets.com was perfect, it was just what I needed to see to understand everything. It was a way for me to see how the system worked and it was just wanted a needed after my so called crisis of faith in email marketing.

After purchasing a domain and migrating my site over I immediately continued with the next set of lessons. There really is a wealth of information in there and the platform is just great for encouraging community engagement and getting help.

Where I am now

I'll be honest I skipped some tasks in the lessons. Mostly the ones to do with writing since I wanted a nice amount of time to do some research and just sit and write. So my goal this weekend will be researching and writing those posts. Already have my three topics.

The remaining time this weekend and next week will be filling out and further customizing my website to are I'm happy with it. Then I'll be ready for that great feedback you all give, both the good and the bad, and I can refine from there. Looking forward to it.
