Writing my first ever ebook is now getting started

Hi WA Fam

Yes you read the title right. Since Joining Wealthy Affiliate I have been putting off writing my first ebook to give away for free, once someone subscribes.

Put it down to feeling apprehensive and unsure.

I started researching my options and found HubSpot has ebook templates that you can access once you subscribe to them.

I've been a member for a few months, and I received my ebook templates. Six of them are Indesign templates or 6 Power Point Ebook templates to choose and there are also templates on Google Drive for you to access.

I choose the PowerPoint ones as I have this program on my laptop.

I started out by adding image and title to the front cover. Filled in details about me the author and worked on my table of contents.

The suggestion from Hubspot is to not overdo things. In other words don't write a saga as the main goal of your ebook to help people solve a problem, so it should be succinct.

I know I should be working on my Bootcamp but I really need to get other things done first.

Once I've finished creating and writing my ebook. I will get someone to read it for me and hopefully make some suggestions. Then I need to create a subscriber form (I think that's what they call it). This should have been done ages ago but I had nothing to give away, mainly because I had no idea of where to start.

Hubspot, provide wonderful suggestion on getting started.

Thank you for reading and liking my blog.

Well done on taking that step Yvonne! Ebooks are still an effective way to build a list of subscribers. I'm about to start Affiliate bootcamp as well. I've been working solely on my cat blog for the past 2 and a half years and recently decided to start promoting Wealthy Affiliate on my new domain. Thanks for sharing and wishing you continued success

Thank you Kathy. It’s starting to come along nicely, I’ve just got to add images.

Hey, haven't you discovered yet that there are always other things that need to be done? A list is helpful, but doesn't always solve the problem of priorities.

Got my first ebook written some time ago...did it through Sqribble, whose program I really like. Guess I should think about doing a second one, no?

Yeah Fran go for your second one. I have to agree with you it’s taken me long enough. It was on my todo list but it kept getting pushed back. Thank you.

Just start Yvonne and things will take care of themselves. I've written a couple of ebooks and training manuals; what works for me is starting to write the content in short bursts over a few days or weeks.
I consider the formatting when I have at least some of the content to build on.
Good luck.

Rick

Thank you for your advice Rick. I agree with you short bursts works well for me.

That sounds really great, Yvonne!

Best,

Myra

Thank you Myra for stopping by, much appreciated.

Wonderful news Yvonne. This is a good priority.
You can use a pop-up from your autoresponder when you are ready to give away your eBook as a lead magnet.

Lily

Thank you Lily for your suggestion regarding a pop-up.
