My End of August Update
Hiya Global WA Family
I'm giving you all an update on what I've been up to of late.
Yes, I have been behaving myself, sorry to disappoint you all :-)
Besides trying to keep up to date in answering emails, helping people with notifications, reading and answering tutorials, and finally going to work. I'm amazed that I have any time left at all to do this blog at all.
I want to share my results based on my achievements since I've been with WA for over 12 months. I know many of you newbies often wonder how long it takes to be recognised by Google, but you need to understand that Google is working on your site or sites all the time. I know Richard writes another blog about Google Console so I will not go into explaining in detail.
So what's been happening?
First off the block is Grammarly
I received my weekly update, and it turns out I have unlocked a new achievement between August 29 to Sept 05. I have a new badge!! For last weeks "awesome streak", I'm now a "Full-Year Hero".
So what did I accomplish in my full year?
- 52 weeks of clear, effective communication and heroic error slaying. "That;s quite a feat," says Grammarly.
- Productivity, I'm more productive than 94% of Grammarly users; 17,462 words have been checked
- Mastery I am more accurate than 80% of Grammarly Users 135 alerts shown
- Vocabulary I have used more unique words than 92% of Grammarly users.
- Tone My tone is improving all the time. Mind you, and I could be better; this is an area that I need to work on, guys.
- Total words checked is 880,758 since I joined on 20 Sept 2020
I'm not perfect, as I still keep missing my commas and full stops.

Improvements on my results could also have been due to Jeff's project
I hope you are reading this, Jeff, and I owe you a huge thank you.

My Advice
My advice to new members or not so new is to be
- patient
- faithful to yourself
- writing lots of content
- building trust and integrity with Google
- Using your own words and add a twist of lemon to your content
- Building your site for the long term
- Reading posts and tutorials from members in WA community such as Partha, Richard, Lily etc. who provide lots of value to your learning
- Going back over Kyle's lesson plans when you need to refresh your memory
- asking questions, no question is a dumb or silly question
I wish you all the best for success.

I found you have almost 100 posts, but no Home page to show all posts, so not sure how many posts. I random read some of your posts, a lot of useful information should be ranking well by the Google. From the post titles, you have covered many categories of you niche. But the traffic is still up and down, and not continue goes up.
My opinion is:
- Put back your home page for all your posts, your website link gets ranked from number of posts. Now your Home page displays the Hydroponic posts only..
- Creating Blogs, Reviews, Aero Gardening Tips as your major post categories in the Categories section. Add this 3 categories in the menu section. Clear all your posts in the early menus. The posts shall auto add into the right category after you have set it.
- Private policy, Affiliate Disclosure, and Contact pages, you can manually add in under the About Aero Gardening menu.
Each post you can add 5 to 10 tags as the micro categories for your posts. I give you some example, each aero gardening methods can add as a tag, each type of plant, knowledge of aero gardening, tools for aero gardening, etc.
Clean your image on the sidebar, keep your footer empty. When your website has too many ad banners will make your page speed slow unless you want to pay for plugin pro or CDN. If our website has no traffic, everything is meaningless to us.
The article must write 2 to 3 posts per week. Set fixed week day to post. Google is our employer, we need to fulfill its practices. Consistence is key to trust.
Use this link https://web.dev/measure/ to improve every error highlighted by the analysis report. Set one day per week to solve this error. Start from easy error to difficult error.
Check Google Search Console errors every week, resolve it as soon as possible, especially coverage and Core Web Vitals.
I do this feedback because the issue you are facing creating website one year is similar like me. Please feel free to decide do or don't do as your final.
Hi Yvonne
Great progress … thank you for sharing.
Here’s another idea in case you’re not using it yet.
A while back, Phil (@feigner), introduced Microsoft Clarity to us all.
It’s a very useful additional set of analytics information that is easily connected to GSC. It’s great for checking out what visitor’s behaviour is on our pages so that we can evaluate and then test improvements to page layout.
MC records cursor movements, clicks and scrolling activity so they we can see how a visitor (incognito) looks at and moves around our post or page. Anybody not using Microsoft Clarity might find Phil’s training interesting: Microsoft Clarity - adding clarity to your analytics. :-)
Richard
Thank you for reminding me about Microsoft Clarity Richard I’d forgotten that I joined this program.

Awesome work Yvonne, those are some encouraging numbers indeed!
I think your steady rise in traffic etc over time kinda proves that you're doing everything the RIGHT way...as you're putting in the work, and overtime, starting to see results change for the good.
Very encouraging and inspiring thanks buddy, hope all is well down the south side of this chunk of land. :-)
Everything is good in SA. How long it will last once the borders are open is anyone's guess. Thank you for your kind comment; much appreciated.
