Hitting number 1 in Google and position no 2
I went to work this morning,,, and while I was having morning tea, I noticed a private message from Sylvia,,, who lives in Europe. I opened up her message and was delighted with what she had to say.
"Hi Yvonne, I want to make you happy, but maybe you know already. I need to let you know! I was looking up Google for aero gardening, and your site was the second site on the first page.
Have a beautiful weekend! :)"
Did I know?
I must admit I knew I hit no 1 in Google, Bing and Yahoo,but I did not look for the positioning.
I was so thrilled to see that Sylvia searched where she lives.
So my reason for sharing my wonderful news is to share it with the newbies who I often hear them say "why have I not been indexed". There have been times when I have waited weeks to be indexed, but I waited patiently.
It will happen to you too. My advice is
- be patient,
- lots of hard work
- keep on creating content
- share on social media
- have faith in your ability to get there

Hi YvonneBray! Please forgive my ignorance. But what's the heck about this ranking, indexing of a thing? What's the ultimate benefit to writers, bloggers like me?
As a blogger, I'm often frustrated with the stringent requirements listed by Google: "Write no more than 20 words in a sentence. Use less passive voice sentences, while demanding more of active voice sentences. Add keywords to tags, titles, slugs, etc."

It is $$$, first our posts get indexed, then months later starts getting ranked. My understanding is well worth the effort, Google has more than 200 elements in its algorithm and despite it is well worth the effort.

Have you completed your first level training? If so what level are you at?
You need to write lots of content on you chosen niche. Google likes you to write between 1,000 words to 1500.
I’ve found by following the advice of Kyle in his lessons, taking advice from others such Prince Partha, Lily etc. Will add many benefits to your success.
Indexing comes before ranking. Google needs to see that your site is honest, contains lots of content written by you, not copied from another persons site.
I have to admit I have a tendency to write passively, but I do go back over to correct and write more actively. Sometimes it can’t be helped.
I add keyword tags and categories as well as using key words in my title, sentences. But try not to do keyword stuffing if you can.

The other thing that may help you is to read other peoples posts. This way you get an idea on how to write more effectively. That’s what I do and I leave them nice comments or I might ask a question.

Thank you for your question, I understand your frustration, but at the same time, it is for our benefit.
Google has certain rules that help us to keep our content on the right track, it's important we keep these rules to help our ranking. Have you been through the training as I'm sure this is explained in a much better and more detailed way than I can explain here?

Thank you for your response, it's appreciated.
I don't know how far you are in with your training, but one thing I do know is that the training is excellent here. I didn't go through all the training as I was already making money before I joined Wealthy Affiliate. But I learnt the hard way when I first started, before joining Wealthy Affiliate!
However, the training here is excellent and genuinely works. There are no shortcuts, but the good news is that the training really does work. There are many success stories here at Wealthy Affiliate, which proves that the training is excellent.
It may seem hard and slow going through the training, but in the long term, it's definitely the best way. I learnt the hard way when I first started online back in 2004, buying into scams and programs that were not genuine! Wealthy Affiliate training takes you through the process in the correct way!
