What no one tells you about obsession

I heard a lot of negativity towards the word Obsession

In the media, it is seen as unhealthy or mad, like something absurd that you can stop doing because X or Y . I think about the teenage girls who are obsess about their weight and looking like the next model in the magazine. This obsession can lead to tremendous pain for them and their surroundings.( I also heard the same thing starting for men,a growing number of men become obsess, once again something no one talk about: anorexia for men)

When can obsession be a good thing…,

Yes I like, to offer a different point a view. The true is we’ve all have experiment crazy obsession but in positive (kind of) oriented way. It reminded me my sister who once got obsessed about getting the next trendy mobilphone, she cut picture in magazine, put in her pocket to see the size of it, imagine all the time how cool her life would be when she’d get it. Of course the mobilphone was expensive and outside of her league but guess what.

She got so obsessed with it, that…

She “found a way out of no way”, she figured that if she eat less, stop going out to restaurant and cinema and walk instead of taking the public transport she could manage to get it in few months (true story). I also heard a guy proposing to “rent” his girlfriends to afford the latest IPhone which I do not recommend unless agreed upon.

My point is obsession when correctly harness can help you…

I am huge fan of formula one and one pilot more than the other, Ayrton Senna. He used to be known as someone obsessed with winning. Obsessed with going one second faster, going the extra mile. Now here is the catch people who are obsessed with what they want.. usually get it. So into it, that they forget to it, don’t think about what’s going on Facebook, nor where the next party is. They sacrifice everything could be for anything you want.

Usually we harness that power to…

Only run after consumerism goods: pair of shoes, smartphone, … (which never leads to anything more than the happy rush for a week or less). What if we use that power of intense focus to realise a dream. Some may call it the law of attraction. At this time, early days of the year when we are into resolution why not get obsessed about learning one more thing everyday about that seemingly silly dream.
